What did you do to your TJ today?

Replaced the trans cooler check valve...no more morning slip!

Can you describe those “morning slips” more in detail? Mine is doing something similar

Sure thing; when our Jeep ('02 TJ 4.0 with 32RH auto trans) would sit for a while, overnight or longer, when it was first started and dropped into gear it would be several seconds before the trans would start to move the Jeep. We could start it in neutral and let it sit for a few seconds and then it would take right off when dropped into gear. Found out this was caused by a faulty check valve in the transmission line that runs from the tranny to the trans cooler (apparently it allows fluid to drain back out of the converter). Parts on Amazon are about thirty bucks (parts I pictured, plus 3' of Gates 27057 trans cooler hose and some hose clamps). Seems to have fixed the problem.

Found a new set of wheels/tires...picking them up tonight, setup below. By the looks of the tires I think they might be the BFG KM's. Found a few reviews of them cupping around 20k and they have roughly 17k on them.

Anyone running these tires have any feedback?

Mind if I ask what you paid? On the hunt myself.

Spent Friday and Saturday doing trails in Williamsburg Kentucky at the Gateway to the Cumberlands Jamboree. Ran Deliver Us (4-5) and Rock Bottom (5-6) with open diffs and 31s while most guys on those trails were running locked and 35s haha. Did well though and it was a great experience as it was my first time truly wheeling. I even won the rookie award for being the youngest driver at the event.

How’d you like that Jambo? It’s been on my list to check out.
It was awesome, good balance of mud and rocks. There was a little bit more mud this time but we had some rain saturday morning. The trail guides were all super nice and helpful and many of them were even locals. There were tons of options for trails and I dont think I wouldve had less fun doing any of them.

I’m planning to do the Kentucky Adventure Trail next summer, any tips for a western jeeper getting out that way? Looks like keep the mud tires on, at a minimum :)

Ha! yeah definitely keep the mud tires on. Also have tow straps and such ready if you plan on doing it because I got towed out once and I had to tow out my uncle twice, although that goes for basically any trail, so i guess my only tip is to definitely do it and enjoy yourself because it is loads of fun. Oh, and listen to the locals, they basically live on those trails.
