Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed a 2" OME Sport SL on my '02. Springs, shocks, steering stabilizer, track bar bracket (kicked my a$$!) and tranny drop kit. What a HUGE difference in ride! After reading so much about the different options out there, I'm so glad I went with the OME.

Next up is a new set of ProComp black alloy wheels and 32x11.50x15 BFG KO2's. Here it is with the stock wheels and 31s.View attachment 14250View attachment 14251

Did you consider trying the lift without the tranny drop? I like the look with the oem wheels and the 31s. But I have never been a fan of black wheels personally.

I got to thinking the other day that the day I bought my TJ, I neglected to pull the seat covers off and see what condition the actual seats were in. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous about how they were going to look. I've see some pretty torn up seats in older vehicles, so reluctantly I pull the seat covers off. What I find pleasntly surprises me, the seats are in near perfect condition, only a couple minor tears on the drivers side, door side. They were however covered in a thick layer of white dog hair, I dont own a white dog lol. I vaccumed them up real good and picked up some Turtle Wax upholstery cleaner with a brush head attached. I like the feeling of the seat so much better than the loose, dirty and stinky neoprene seat covers (I make dog food for a living, the smell is not so great). I may not even buy seat covers now, I really like how it looks with the stock seats & it smells so much better in there, I'm quite pleased with today's Jeep.

The rear flip-up window on my hardtop was leaking, took a look at it and realized the rubber wasn't sealed on near the center where the water was coming through...took some industrial adhesive and sealed her right back up!

My factory hard top had a bad wind whistle in the front, above the windshield. I masked off the seal on top and bottom, and drew a thin bead of "The Right Stuff" sealant, and solved the issue. I'm sure it would have leaked water if I had driven it in the rain otherwise.

Installed tub guards, took off the front bumper, attached a whip antenna, and removed the rear bumper end caps ( so hated to see those go); also helped a friend remove his stuck door with a high lift jack. Tested the range on a Cobra compact CB. BTW if anyone needs some stock rear bumper end caps, I'd let them go for about 200.00 [emoji4]

I'll buy your milk jugs for $200.00. That's a great deal! Hopefully they're nice and discolored with a few dents. That's the way I like em!

Why did it take a Hi-Lift Jack to remove your doors?

The passenger side door pin was seized. The bushing is OK but the door pin was caked with paint, dirt and grit. The hi lift placed gingerly under the pin with the nut on, and a couple strokes to put enough pressure to raise the door without putting it in a strain, worked like a charm. And the few days of soaking it with liquid wrench helped as well.

Putting my OME on tomorrow!

I've been very busy with working on my Jeep lately. I've been attempting to get a lot of of my projects done before the desert heat sets in. I've managed to get most everything completed. My next project will be to upgrade my steering. That may wait until this fall though as I have a lot of other projects going on.

Here's a shot of the rear before I started my work.

I always liked the utilitarian look of the round tail lights on Jeeps.

I relocated the license plate and 3rd brake light to the spare tire where it out of the way. I always hated the location of the stock plate bracket as I've almost ripped it off on rocks a few times.

I cleaned up the front and rear wheel wells and applied several coats of spray-on bedliner to protect against rock chips.

I had to replace the dried out/blown subwoofer.

I removed the old Smittybilt bumper and winch and prepared for the install of the new bumper and winch.

Here's the old bumper/winch setup. I'll probably clean it up and sell it on Craigslist.
