What MPG are you getting?

I would never admit to driving a Prius....... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Yeah I thought the same way when my wife insisted, we buy one for her (when she was driving). She stopped driving, gas got really expensive, and I thought "what the heck, I'll give it a try". Then I compared my fuel bill of my Jeep, my 91 Cummins and the Prius on my 50-mile round trip every day. I ended up saving $450 per month, which = more Jeep parts faster. Financial decision, not a religious one ;-)

I did the math years ago and figured out I can drive one of our Civics for 1/3 the cost of driving my truck, or 1/4 of the price to drive my Jeep. Actually, getting my wife out of my truck and into a used Civic saved enough to pay for the Civic in about 3 years. Toys vs work.

Civic is a possibility, hard no on any battery powered car..... ;)

06 with 6 speed, 2,5" lift, 3.73s and 33s. About 18 mpg highway and 12 city.

05 w/ 6 speed 2.5” lift, 3:73’s & 33’s. 15.5 to 16.5 around town consistently. 19 highway is my best…but getting a true highway has been difficult as I usually am going somewhere that ends up in dirt roads and 4wd. My run last weekend with good highway, me hot footing it on backroads in 4wd like I was on a ralley stage…came in at 16 mpg still. I did full a full synthetic change to Redline in all the trans, x-case and diffs some time ago- Think was good for a reliable .5 to 1 mpg if you haven’t done that.

I will just say that if you aren't tracking your mileage over multiple tanks of gas with an app or *gasp* math, you aren't getting accurate numbers. Also obviously your gearing/tire combo needs to match your speedometer obviously.

Sounds like my reasoning for taking the bus into the office, I save about $250 a month. I use that for an excuse to get more Jeep or tools!

Yup, I did take the bus when I worked downtown. Less hassle/cost of parking too. This month's savings just bought Currectlink steering. Should be here Saturday :-D

I got the Lexus CT200H (Prius) and the fuel savings over the Jeeps fuel (10-13 mpg) paid for the car and reduced my fuel bill by $300 a month. The battery is of no concern. They last 10-15 years and a replacement is under $2,000 because Toyota has it under wraps on the older Prius battery. No shame in having something that will save you money. Except I bought the one without the bad stigma. Most do not know it's a Prius.

Alright, a TJ would never ever get anywhere remotely close to the MPG of a 15 year old “Prius” but pursuit for a better MPG within the range & limits of TJ is still logical on every counts. When a vehicle returns good MPG figures (within its range) usually means it is healthy and will be with us for many years to come 😂🤣.
