What size lift for 33 inch tires?

I had 31" tires on the stock suspension. I rubbed at full lock. Installed a 4" Rockjock lift and put on 33s. No more rubbing. Didn't install any bump stops.

if you stuff one of them front 33s up in there you may pull a flare off & flatten your fender in the process without some added bump stops

The shocks could be what are limiting the travel and keeping the tires out of the fenders.

Nah guys...I have stops. I was thinking about steering, not suspension. I cycled and checked everything a number of times.

Lots of good answers already. I have a 3" lift and it rubbed with 33" tires when they were stuffed all the way up. I recently added a 1" body lift and its all good now. Of course have bump stops etc. I have not re-geared yet but will in the future. I currently have 3.73's which around town are actually ok.

If you don't want to do the regear right away then I'd follow the advice of sticking with a 2.5" and the 31s as a first stage. To avoid other issues you'll need trackbars, adjustable control arms, driveshaft, SYE, etc. along with the regear. You can do that stuff as a stage 2. Then save the body lift, regear and tires for the end.

I have 33's with a spacer, and no lift. I didn't do it, but i bought it like that, and now I'm learning the hard way. It has compromised power, top speed, and it's probably straining my transmission more than I'd like to admit. Bottom line, there is a right way, and there is an easy way. Food for thought.

Agreed. Running 33" tires without re-gearing will make you wish you had. My original gears were 3.73 with a 4" lift, 1" body lift and the shifting was a pita. If I knew then what I know now I would have gone with 31" tires along with reduced lift. Decided to stick with 33" tires but had it re-geared to 4.56. Stick with this site for the best advice and honestly assess what you intend to do with your Jeep within your budget constraints. You will find that a slightly altered, or even factory stock, Jeep will accomplish more than what the average driver expects. If you are off roading you need to consider the type of off roading. Running gravel fire trails will require a different set up than going over more difficult terrain. Now you enter the world of lockers and enhanced traction which costs money.

You've just confirmed what I have been trying to deside on, 31s or 33s. I was leaning to 33s but now firmly on 31s, mostly so I am not forced to get everything done at once to do it right.
I'm a Rockhounder, not to be confused with a Rock Crawler. I've been heading out into the AZ desert looking for rocks and minerals as a hobby driving a 2015 civic w/7" clearance. It's been places it never was intended to go. Jeep=happiness
First new tires. I intend 31x10 on 15x7 (will 7s work for 10s??).
Second, Lockers (suggestions are very much welcomed), then suspention lift (suggestions? . Thinking zone lift. > function over looks for me <
3.73 and 3k at 70mph, 3auto with stock dana 30F/35R.I like bfg ATs. I may eventually put 33s on at my leisure. This is a great group with great advice. Ima a noob jeep guy looking for life-changing TJ advise

I forget current tire size in mm and out of state so can't put eyes on it, but just under 31, i also forget the stock size, but stock

Yes. I ran 35x12.50" tires on 7" wide wheels. I had to add wheel spacers because of the stock wheel backspacing though.
