If you're using the 'highest octane out there' you're paying more for gas for no reason.
From pages 229 and 230 of the '06 manual:
You probably have an exhaust manifold leak or intake leak, this was the case with my Jeep as well before I fixed everything.I’m not just using it just because it’s the highest octane. I feel my engine run better and the gas mileage is better. Not whole lot better but better.
They have to be the ones that we pass on the highway doing 5 under the speed limit >.<I get between 12-14. I still can't figure out how people do better than 16mpg in a Jeep. I drive it fairly slow too. I've thought about replacing my O2 sensors but I'm too cheap.

You've got a lifted modified rig, I have the OEM with the milk jugsI get between 12-14. I still can't figure out how people do better than 16mpg in a Jeep. I drive it fairly slow too. I've thought about replacing my O2 sensors but I'm too cheap.
Usually between 24-26psi. I should probably check them though as I haven't for a while. Pizza cutters might help some. My giant fender flares probably don't help any either. Nor does the high lift mounted to the hood. I'll probably take it off this summer, I want to drop the windshield down on a camping trip and cruise around the mountains with it down. (My dad bought the high lift for me so I'm hesitant to pull it off.)What air pressure are you running
Im right at 16 mpg, 27 psi, i forgot to air back up once and got 11 mpg till i realized my mistake
I don't wish to sound ignorant or disrespectful to others but I use my Jeep to run to and from work during bad weather, and to drive for miles in good weather with an occasional trip through the woods.. I keep it tuned and lubricated well. I don't beat my 20 year old faithful TJ, but have a heavier-than-necessary foot, though I aim for super smooth shifts and smooth braking. I don't really care too much about the specific mileage and generally go 220-230 miles between fill-ups. If it drops, I'll know and investigate. All due respect to my fellow Jeepers who perhaps more knowingly monitor mileage closely. Man this thing is Fun!

I run 91 octane out here too(this is our lowest)....although on my TJ's birthday I fill it up with 98 as a treat lolGas mileage ? What about gas prices !?
It’s almost $5 the gallon here in LA
I wonder what grade Octane you guys run
I personally only put 91 octane since it’s the highest number out here
From my limited experience, so far the gas light has consistently come on at the last couple gallons. So it seems consistently accurate when the light activates.Does the fuel gauge inaccuracy mean the low fuel light is also inaccurate?
