Who in here likes to fish?

That one I caught at a B&B we were staying at, owners were pissed to say the least, it was an open pond and wasn't really a pet, washed in from a flood.
I've had the worst luck w/ Koi...I've stocked over 30 in my pond and between the birds, otters, coons, and bears getting them...not cheap, I lose a bunch of trout every year to otters. Had a load of HUGE goldfish too..gone.
My pond from our deck about 40 feet up:

I still have two koi in a 55 gal aquarium in the house trying to grow them out to hopefully survive pond life, man they poop a lot.
Is that trout in the pond in the pic? We have the Raccoons and herons but no bears or otters. My pond is 4' deep so they can't get the Koi..here is mine. Also running 14 tanks up to 125 gallons in the house.

Took my oldest grandson, Eli, fishing today. The bluegills were biting but whatever the ‘Child Safe’ doodad his parents set up for him wouldn’t let him catch a cold. I swapped it out for a real hook and bobber. Then he started catching fish. He did, however, manage to snag my rod while while casting. The fact that my rod was laying on the ground behind him and ended up in a tree in front of him was pretty impressive.

After most of my life fishing off shore or in swampy black water in coastal Virginia I'm having to learn how to catch bass in lake water clear enough I can see the bottom at 25'. New line (bye-bye spectra), new bait colors and shapes, techniques, you name it. I'm loving the mountains, but I do miss being on the ocean without anyone else in sight, and never knowing what you'll catch. Or just spending a few days on the beach slaying the puffers (best eating I've ever done).

Lake Cahoon (I lived on the edge of it for about 7 years, best of my life) in Suffolk, VA. Plenty of largemouth, pickerel, bowfin (fun to catch but not edible), big bluegill and crappie. Visibility about 12"...

Here is where I fish now, and the water is stupid clear. Not sure if the mountain bass are just smarter than the swamp bass and I fell behind the curve or what, but these guys are tricky. Maybe that's why most of the "natives" up here (Shenandoah Valley) fish for trout, but it's hard for me to get excited about fishing for something I would use as bait back home.

Not great pics, but went out of Orient Point, NY today. Bunch of striped bass and a total bail job of sea bass and porgies...probably over 500 fish for the 15 guys on board. Cooked them up on the griddle and hit a cool local brewery on the way home....of course first beer was cracked at 7:45 AM!

In Florida with family so couple of us guys booked a half day with Reef Relief Charters outa St. Petersburg Fl. Had tons of fun and easily caught the most fish I've ever caught in one go. Loads of what was some kind of snapper or grunts, a several red grouper which were unfortunately out of season, couple of sea bass, several lizard fish, several puffers, and a couple of mother in law fish.
