Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Already did. Also reached out to HotWire since he used to sell one & to JeepSpeed so hopefully one of them has one still in stock.

Edit: I can tell you that there are more than JUST me looking for either a drawing or the bracket. Since the JK came out and the TJ has gone by the wayside and vendors have slowly dropped parts for us things like this become sought after.

Remember Beebe as The Giant Panda?

Did some last minute things on the donor Jeep and cleaned up a little more trying to get things ready for parts arrival & pushing the donor Jeep out and pushing my Tj back into the garage. Got one last part for a forum member I'd forgotten about. & I grabbed the fuel line from the frame to the fuel rail but not sure if I'll be using it or not.

Got the charcoal canister removed from the NVLD detector and started looking at what I'll need to make it work with my GR tank.

Here's @NashvilleTJ setup that he did.

Jeff, What is this? Looks like a splitter or some type of valve? I don't have one on mine.

NVLD.jpg

I'll have to fab up some type of mounting plate to tuck it up in the right rear wheelwell. This is all I'm working with on mine, I don't have the larger vent on the right side of my tank but think I can plumb the larger line into the smaller vent line on my tank.

Then took a bunch of measurement s of how the motor mounts are on the donor frame. I'll have to adjust a little since my frame is a little longer in the front with the steering box rotation but there's also a hole on each side of the frame you are supposed to index off of. I'm just not sure if those holes are still there on mine with all the mods I'd done. So if not I also know how far off the front of the frame.

I also verified that I have 5/16" hard fuel line that came off my TJ so I'll leave the 8AN fuel line and then get some quick disconnect fittings to use on the fuel line. I'll remove the 6AN return line that I'd installed. Might have to make a short extension to reach the fuel rail but that's it.

That “splitter thingy” is a stock piece off my ‘04.

Brought my camping table into the garage and am using it to teardown the 545RFE transmission..

Got a Lubelocker pan gasket for the transmission. Also bought a pan with a drain plug. Have to weld a temperature sensor bung into the pan first.

Then bought a TransGo shift kit for the transmission.

Got the pan off the transmission and the valve body removed.

FYI we wheeled with @genesmail2001 last week who has like 30 years experience with transmissions if you have any questions he may be able to help.

How long is that 545 from where the engine mounts to the tcase?

I'll measure the length of it tomorrow.

Cool, if I have questions I'll make sure to hit him up.

Love this on the instructions.

Thank you.37" or 27"? 27 is pretty compact for a tough 5 speed auto

27"... I fat fingered it on my phone and wasn't paying attention... The newer 8HP70 is the same length if I remember correctly.

Should NOTE: The JK/JL folks talk about the 545RFE like the TJ/LJ folks talk about the AW4.

Uhhhh... The smart end of the stretchy stick says 27" not 37" :ROFLMAO:

I might be a little sleep deprived so what am I missing here?

Yep... Damn big fingers...

Here's the gearing for the 8HP70:

And then the 8HP75:

You know it's less forum and more friends & family when you get so much shitposts for an obvious typo that had an accompanying pic... :ROFLMAO:

Yes they do...

If I could find one for an affordable amount I'd get one. So far I can only find 2WD versions locally but have my eye out. Then the next PITA is that you have to use the shifter from the Charger/Challenger so I'd have to figure out how to make it work with the GR center console.

There is this shifter also.

Fly by wire shifting... yee haww

So, in theory, a 4 pole toggle switch and an on-off-on momentary toggle switch could work.. If you're good at wiring that is... :ROFLMAO:
