Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

I had them from my original carpet, but I have seen them for sale. Let me see what I can dig up.

Thx! I've looked a little, but no luck so far. I have the same mats and they stay mostly in place but could definitely be more stable. I think my carpet is stock, but no hooks. I'll keep trying.

Still haven't found the heim but I'll look more later. Since my son is in town we're heading to Yakima to have dinner with my mom and sister.

Played with where to mount things more this morning.

I may end up needing to get a different tie rod clamp since this one's just a little bigger than I've got room for. It's just barely touching.

Then we moved onto getting the winch rope installed.

Hooked up to the back of my truck and spooled the winchline from @Blackjack on.

For now I'll have to use a soft shackle to hang it off the shackle mount. But I'd like to figure something else out for a permanent solution.

Something to note on those pictures of the tie rod clamp hitting the trackbar is that I was at full bump. I'd let all the air out of the AiRock system.
So under normal conditions there's not going to be any clearance issues. So it might touch 2% of the time when off-road if that much.
So I'm not sure if I'm over thinking things or not.

The first time I cycled my suspension I had the mind set that "nothing can touch anywhere under any circumstance!" I've since moved on to a more compromising frame of mind:unsure:

It seems like one advantage of your set up is the ease of cycling your suspension (no spring removal necessary!)

Not sure how thick your tie rod is, but I'm a fan of this style of PSC's clamps are. Pretty cheap with the scratch/dent sale:

Yes things are going to touch or scrap if you're close like I am. What I'm not sure about is if for the little it's going to rub if it's really a issue.

I've looked at that style before also. Was just trying to use what I have right now. But I may end up going to that instead.
I'm 1.5" diameter BTW.

I have one like the PSC collar that is made for a steering stabilizer that I could weld a 5/8" bolt onto & use also. So I've got a few options. Like I said I'm trying to use what I've got on hand right now. And if it turns out that it's more of a issue than I think I can always change it out. But it'll get my hydro-assist hooked up & working.

It's more a issue with how my foot fits around the fuel pedal and catching my heel on the tread in the liner. I don't have an ankle to manipulate the fuel pedal with so I'm driving with my thigh. It's why I change to my sport foot when driving the Jeep. It's shorter so it fits better in the space I have.
I was discussing this with Jeff the other day and I may try to buy another accelerator bracket and cut it up and reweld it to change the angle of how the b=pedal sits not to accommodate me & my style of driving better.
I was already thinking about installing a couple of sheet metal screws to hold them in place.

The liners were kind of a impulse purchase and were sitting in the garage & my son asked about them so I was like we'll try them out since I can't return them as I'd had them for too long to return them.

If I hadn't needed the heat shielding I most likely wouldn't have been as inclined to install the liners.

I like the bed liner in the tub but you have to be careful applying it. I've had to throw out the rugs from 2 different Jeep due to them being old & nasty from getting wet and then not drying out. Due to that I didn't want to put carpet back into my Jeep. I've been known to do some water crossings that would get water into the floorboards.

I like the idea of the bed liner. I 100% appreciate the issue with water & mud, which was a driving reason I originally removed mine. Especially getting caught in the rain with the top down & doors off.

Now that I'm getting mine more 'comfortable' to daily drive and off-road, I 'm thinking to go carpet but would pull it when hitting the trails. Unfortunately, I don't have trails all that close by for a 'couple hours fun' - so any offroad trip would be planned in advance enough to pull the carpet.

Being able to let the air out of the air springs and fully compress the suspension is yes a good thing. Not having to pull springs every time I'm checking for clearance is nice.
Where it gets confusing for me is the times I'll forget I'm not at ride height and be adjusting or setting something.

Like right now my steering wheel is off by a few degrees because I'd adjusted it at full bump.

Other than the price I like these. Being knurled inside would help to make sure it doesn't slide. The one I have has 3 spikes that you tighten into the tie rod

Since the price is the same I might get an off-set one but need to look at it more to decide.

I can vouch for these! Mine hasn't moved since install.

Yes I appreciate you sharing the link to the clamp when you replaced. yours with. I think the TMR clamp is going to work but if not I've got a great other option due to people like you sharing your experiences.

So couldn't sleep last night so came out to the garage and tried to get the O/D light working 🙃. No such luck so far so I'll have to spend some time with the FSM and wiring diagrams and see if I can figure it out.

Then I'd decided I'd change out the rear air chuck on the bumper for a 5 way air chuck. By this I'm talking about a air chuck that takes 5 different styles of air chuck fittings.
Like the one @FarFire70 and I were discussing in his build thread.

But to install it how I wanted I needed to change the bulkhead fitting also which then entailed a bit more than I'd thought.
I'd bought a fitting with a male end to screw into the bulkhead fitting to cut down on the overall height of the fitting.

Using one of the air chuck nipples to cover the end. The nipple comes from Witts End. They're a Toyota parts site.

The finished product.

Just cleaner than what I had before. I'll get a tether cable to attach the nipple to so I don't lose it when using the OBA to fill tires or other uses.
