I can think of one situation in the last 20 years where the limb risers would have saved me a windshield. I can think of 15 or 20 situations where they would have been a PITA.
They also look to me like they'd be noisy on the highway.
Took the plunge for these. After I installed mine I was expecting lots of noise on the road, but thus far I haven't really noticed anything including one 4hr round trip. They're definitely not AS useful as I had hoped, but they are not without some degree of utility. I can't imagine a situation where they would cause a problem though.
And I know they'll get the conversation going (ridicule) when I break them out for a trail run.. love it.
Would like to see the UCF with the light bar brackets. Maybe the brackets sit high enough to provide some coverage for the upper end of the pillar.Just a comparison of how much coverage you get with each. I like the coverage on this newer version of Genright windshield frame guards a CB lot more than the previous version that stopped short like the UCF guards do.

Quoting myself: Cancelled the UCF and ordered the GenRight. I know a few skilled welders if I absolutely need something for limb risers. I have a $40 ebay LR kit in my mailbox so will check that out tomorrow. Got a hunch it'll work even tho' its says for JK.Would like to see the UCF with the light bar brackets. Answer to the question is nope. See picture of the UCF.

I might re-think this and spend the coin on GR. Aluminum is not critical and I'm just that guy who'd smack the only unprotected area.
I'll figure something else out for the limb risers if I have to have them.
Scrolled down and it looks like they are for a TJ also.Quoting myself: Cancelled the UCF and ordered the GenRight. I know a few skilled welders if I absolutely need something for limb risers. I like being steered into the best decision. Thanks.Just a comparison of how much coverage you get with each. I like the coverage on this newer version of Genright windshield frame guards a CB lot more than the previous version that stopped short like the UCF guards do.

I had the old style Genright guards that were like the UCF ones that are not full coverage. And wouldn’t you know it I crushed the upper corner above the guard. I now have the new style Genright guards that are much higher up and full coverage for the new frame. They should be a whole lot better. Are the worth $250 probably not but I couldn’t make them cheaper and my new windshield and windshield frame cost me a lot more than these did.
Had mine powder coated yes I used the provided hardware/ nutsertsAny hints on the installation of the GR? Just showed up today so still need to prep and paint (wondering if a generic gloss black would work or do I need to get some PX8). Did you use only the provided hardware or go to nutserts? I guess I could look over the hardware kit to see what's in it. I do know there were no instructions, that shouldn't be needed - but still. I did get a sticker for my pile.
Were they close to a match in color?Had mine powder coated yes I used the provided hardware/ nutserts
The previous owner installed the Genright on mine. No complaints, though I'm still not sure why they're needed. Though I did have a rust spot on the passenger side that I had to touch up with rustoleum.
I wasn’t matching anything I just had them done in black like my rock sliders. Were they close to a match in color?

watched a buddy smash his on an offshoot on sunbonnet pass. straddle a notch of boulders and go up and around a 10 foot boulder on the right while climbing. thought to myself "meh... i can do better" i was wrong. wish I had been running the genrights.
Though that rock had yellow, blue, white, and black paint on it so i probably should have known better...
i realize it was actually the boulder in my profile pic. I mean, maybe not a consideration for someone who's a btter driver then me...Oops! I figured no armor is bad, but haven't hit mine yet. Good to know they serve a purpose.
