Chris, have you found a turbo kit as an option, which would you choose and how much would a set up like that end up costing?

Sorry, the coffee has not kicked in yet LOL. I was asking if he had a Turbo kit in mind to use in the Jeep.
You are also running into some significant aerodynamic issues. The power required to go 70 mph is 35% more than what it takes to go 60 mph. That stuff on the roof rack (especially the plastic bins) is causing a big problem. Watch an airplane land and you see the speed brakes pop up on the wings. That's what those bins are doing for you.
Some options for you:
1) Slow down. At a slower speed it is not as much of a problem. The aero forces go up with the square of the speed.
2) If you must load up on the roof, try one of those canvas roof bags that are lower in the front and rear. The bins at the back are not your friend here.
3) Get a trailer

The Banks turbo kit is the way to go. By the time it’s said and done is guess you’d be into it for 6-7k.

Thanks for the response Chris. I hear ya on the Banks system, have you heard anything on 505 performance’s turbo kit?
505 has a terrible reputation from what I've heard. No first hand dealings though.

I looked into their roller cam/lifter setup a few years ago. After some light reading on other forums, I decided to stay away.
Ahhh yes. I heard a lot of bad stuff about these guys years back. I figured that was enough to stay away.

With the 4.11 gears and AT in the Unlimited Rubicon I cruise at 60-65 the I-10, but most of the time I drive 55 on the two lane roads which is 98% of my driving.
Ozarks? those are bumps not hills. Cottonwood to Prescott on the 89A now that's a hill.

I looked at supercharging our (her?) TJ and got interested in buying a supercharger kit, based upon a repurposed (ex-Mercedes) Eaton blower, from a guy near Philadelphia (USA).

That's the Boosted Tech kit originally discussed. Very lacking IMHO, especially where it comes to tuning.
What size are your tires and have you regeared your axles yet? 5-speed transmission right?

That is led by Cobramarty. I would still like to know if that website is still operational. I have looked at these kits but I would like to know if he is still selling them as well. Maybe he might chime in to update us.
Just keep in mind that when you start increasing the horsepower, the rest of your drivetrain is at risk.
When I was young, I put a Buick V6 in a Willys CJ-2A. Power was great. Then I blew up the T-90 trans. So I put a Ford Toploader 3 speed in it. Then I started snapping axle shafts.
I'd love more power, but re-gearing and slowing it down sounds a lot less expensive!

The 231 was the best engine ever put in a Jeep.
I could pull from about 10 mph in top gear in our 67 Commando.
