O2 sensor codes for all 4 sensors at once

hows the new CPU working for you? Light staying off?

No, new CPU had no effect on this problem, so I cannot recommend it to you. This is the never ending chase...I am starting to think one of the main wires that connects to one or more of these o2 sensors is stripped/rotted/cracked somewhere.

I would not recommend purchasing a new CPU for this O2 sensor code problem.

im scheduling a appt to have my mechanic take a look at my jeep to try to solve this ongoing problem, any luck on your side?

I stopped by my local mechanic who plugged in his basic code reader, told me to clear the code, change the bank 2 downstream and let him know. I changed that sensor and the code is back so I will be stopping by his shop later this week so he can plug the Jeep into his more advanced code reader to pinpoint this. Once that happens I will report back.

Same with you, if your mechanic finds anything please post. Thx

Jeep is going in on Tuesday, but I noticed a new issue caused by the new PCM. I have code U168, but my AutoZone code reader does not pick it up, I used the method of turning the ignition key to the on position and then off position three times.

@Wranglerfix - do you know what the U0168 code is?

Google says "lost communication with the security module (SKIM)".
The u1068 and 0633 will clear themselves with about 30-40 cranks. There is no consistency as it happens to some and mot others and all pcms are programmed exactly the same.

The other weird one is some Jeeps have battery temp sensors snd some don’t and there’s no way of telling by the vin. We have the solution but don’t know when the problem will occur. Weird

As far as the 0057 and 0058, have you checked the wiring and connections going to the sensor?

What are the other codes in the jeep? The u0168 code happens in some Jeeps (never in mine) and not others. It should not cause the check engine light to turn on.

It went from all four O2 codes before the PCM switch to P0431 and this U168.

Jeep is going to the mechanic on Wednesday so he'll figure it out...possible exhaust leak or bad cat...

The u0168 code comes up like the battery temp sensor switch. Completely by coincidence and neither occurs in my jeep I have to speak to my tech and figure out how to kill that code.
 
I would like you to please try this and let me know what happens.

If your scan tool can access fault codes and the only one you get from other modules is the U0168, try to access to the vehicle security control module (VSCM). If you can access codes from the VSCM, then the U0168 code is either intermittent or a memory code. If unable to access the VSCM, then the U0168 code that the other modules are setting is active, and the problem is there now. The most common failure is loss of power or ground to the vehicle security control module. Check all fuses that power up the VSCM module on this vehicle. Check all grounds for the VSCM. Locate where the ground attaching points are on the vehicle and make sure that these connections are clean and tight. If you have to, take them off, get a small wire bristle brush and baking soda/water solution and clean each one, both the connector and where it connects. If any repairs were made, clear the diagnostic trouble codes from memory, and see if the U0168 code returns or if you are able to communicate with the VSCM module. If the code does not return or communication is re-established, then the fuses/connections were most likely your problem. If the code returns, locate the CAN bus communication connections on your vehicle, most importantly the VSCM connector, which is usually behind the dash or inside the steering column. Disconnect the negative battery cable before unplugging the connector at the VSCM module. Once located, visually inspect the connectors and wiring. Look for scraping, rubbing, bare wires, burn spots or melted plastic. Pull the connectors apart and carefully inspect the terminals (the metal parts) inside the connectors. See if they look burned or have a green tint indicating corrosion. Use electrical contact cleaner and a plastic bristle brush if cleaning of the terminals is needed. Let dry and apply dielectric silicone grease where the terminals contact. Before connecting the connectors back to the VSCM, make these few voltage checks. You will need to have access to a digital volt-ohmmeter (DVOM). Verify that you have power and ground at the VSCM. Gain access to a wiring diagram and determine where the main powers and grounds come into the VSCM. Reconnect the battery before continuing, with the VSCM still disconnected. Connect the red lead of your voltmeter to each B+ (battery voltage) supply coming into the VSCM connector and the black lead of your voltmeter to a good ground (if not sure, battery negative always works). You should see a reading of battery voltage. Verify that you have good grounds as well. Hook the red lead of your voltmeter to battery positive (B+) and the black lead to each ground circuit. Once again you should see battery voltage at each connection. If not, repair the power or ground circuit problem.

Thanks...I don't have a SKIM key/module and have over a 100 cranks since this wranglerfix PCM was added, so clearly I am not in that bucket.
Got mine back from the shop yesterday mechanic said everything physically looked good wires/connections ect. Cats were also checked tested and clear. He recommended the PCM update pertaining to the O2 sensors before taking the plunge into a new one?

I cannot get the u0168 code to come on in my Jeep. I will keep you updated on what we find out as my tech has a few things he is going to try.

I am going to send you another pcm to see if that does not remedy the issue. I cannot get it to re-create itself in my Jeeps. You will receive a shipping notification tomorrow.

did you get your issue worked out mine is still on????

Not yet - I had something pop up and was not able to drop the Jeep off at the mechanic. The Jeep was my 2nd vehicle and I am selling my primary so I cannot leave the Jeep at the shop until I get a new primary vehicle.

just curious if your check engine light issue was fixed with the new PCM .... mine is currently off since the weather has cooled down but I still want it fixed permanently

The Wrangler fix PCM did not fix it, so today, I removed it and put my original PCM back in. Obviously no CEL right now but I'll see what happens over the next week since it is cold now. I need to pass emissions asap, I am already 5 months late...ugh.

Out with the New PCM and back with the Original.
