Someguys 04

I was using a YJ dual diaphragm booster. From what Blain says and I’m sure he’s correct, the TJ booster puts out plenty of pressure. i Would start by researching what master guys are using.

your next issue will be flaring lines that don’t leak. The only tool I have used with consistent success is the Eastwood. It’s expensive but works amazingly well.

you may also need a adjustable proportioning valve to dial the rear down if they are locking up before the fronts in a panic stop.

For reference I’m running a 77 ford dana 44 front narrowed to waggy width. The calipers are a little larger then then stock TJ and the TJ booster master combo is fine. The pedal goes down a very small amount more then before but due to the larger brake rotors and calipers I can easily lock up 35s. The amount of pressure the booster makes works.
just bought 1 last brake job ...already paid for itself 3x over.

I keep looking at one and I should have bought it when it was on sale last month.
i paid 289 +tx, not a great deal but worth it. summit has 1 similar that you can catch a deal on now and then too. eastwood is just 30mi closer to me (8mi away).
problem with goin there is, it's a man's candy store.....................i want it all.

got on the horn with WOD when i got in. and they say they just weld the plug inside and out and then cut right through, same as any other. they say it'll have some meat left........ but if i'm worried, cut a hair shallower.

the pinion assy bolts seem to be 7/16", so i got some new ones. and chased the threads in the housing to clean all the locktite and crap.

well it finally got to us, 14" w/ drifts over 3' on the ground yesterday mornin. took me an hr and half with a shovel to clear the driveway and another hr and half to drive the 20 mi, usually 30 min ride into work..
top that off with yesterday was a holiday for city workers, so all them guys that been sittin on the corner in them big trucks doin not a GD thing but gettin paid since b4 Christmas...................leave the city in ruination because they gotta get that F'n holiday. last night @ 3am they finally come by (only cause we got a school at the end of the street) and plow and buried my apron under a 4ft tall 6ft wide wall of chunk snow. they completely buried my neighbors compact car that was pretty much already drift locked.

it's finally given in to cold temps daily, no more odd mild days until april, that kinda halts work outside until wkends that provide time to build up some heat out there.

i did take the 14B caliper brackets into the shop and got those cleaned up ready for paint. also got the truss about how i want it.

so i really feel like an idiot about these new bars that don't allow the top to fit, and i could have done something about that during construction and some rework to make it so, is likely coming next summer.
in the meantime, it's cold as balls with the back end wide open. i found a BT windjammer for 100$, in great shape, it's got a short top, the B bar panel with a good clear window, and back end toneau cover too. i can take and hang that B bar panel and hopefully keep some heat in the cab. i don't really want to be on the winter roads but the salt deposits dictate that, not the snow or cold.

been draggin my feet on this trailer. this wkend i have to push myself to put the jeep out and spend Sat and Sun gettin this frame together at least to a point i can move it back out, put the jeep back in, and repeat next wkend. if i had just 6" more roof height i could park the jeep on the frame and keep um both inside.

Ahh git it. I wound up redoing the back of my cage to get the framesless top to fit.

Your plow guys don’t work on holidays? I’d think they would be gettinng holiday pay to do so.

the area Cleveland area is very racially diverse, and local gov't has made very special use of the EOEA, most of the city workers (90%^) take this holiday very serious and take full advantage of a free days pay. those that did take advantage of the OT were few and didn't even manage to open 1/2 of the main roads, until late in the day. they'll leave the side roads bombed unless your in a school zone like we are.

trash didn't go yesterday for the same reason and got set out last night, the plow guy blasted everybody's cans all over the front laws and 20mph winds have scattered it everywhere. thankfully all my shit was bagged.

Stories like that make me hate the Florida summer a little less. Still dislike July and august but it’s a give and take I guess. that seams cold enough to make me have to change my welder settings lol.

my ex in-laws were snowbirds, they stayed here may-oct then they had a nice little spot in Deerfield, IIRC about 5mi in from the coast. it was nice every time we visited.

bit to cold outside this morn to waste fuel tryin to heat the garage to even 30*. so i got the trailer hubs in the basement, i'm tearin into those open later today to verify any needed parts and part #'s. seems there is a possibility of 2 different races, depending on drum/hub dimensions.

i got those 14B brake caliper brackets about painted, 1 more coat should do it.
also got new backing plates, new parking brake shoes and a new hardware kit in the cart from Rock Auto..

i can't find that stupid little rubber boot for the parkin brake lever, unless i buy new levers, mine were dry and brittle.
my rotors are like new, just need cleaned up. calipers will wait until i'm ready for um, i got enough crap floatin around.
i also cleaned up the existing levers and adjusters and slobbered them with never seize. those are ready to go, but i do get new adjusters in the hardware kit too,

pretty much got the pinion guard ironed out, just needs a couple gussets and it's good. maybe 20-30% less steel than i bought, but all it needs to be.

this shits killin me. over 2ft of snow on the ground with no hopes of it going anywhere, we just got another 14" over the last couple days.
drivin me crazy that everything i need to do is slobbered in gear oil or grease and i can't drag that mess inside just to stink up the joint. once she's primed, i'd never hear the end of it.

got word from the 205 seller, he's supposed to be gettin them out so i can head down there tomrw.

nobody shops here, so most all the NP205 info is on/in the doubler post.

weathers tryin to break so maybe spring will hit early here. lots to do still.
made a conscious decision to make some changes to the ends of that 14B if i play everything right it'll shave 100#+ off that axle.

gonna run me an extra 800$ but i cut corners once and regret it, i don't feel like shortcutting again if i can help it.
not gonna say, .i'll keep it for a surprise.

loosin my mind here. lots of stuff to do yet and just can't catch a break in the weather. trying to occupy my addiction with oddball projects like the NP205 and the 14B axle, but they are not satisfying the need to get the current build into a ready for a shakedown state.
