New OME 2.0 lift questions

I think it's gonna be trial and error to see what looks right. My guess is stack them and yank the rear. Dirk also mentioned never measure hahahaha it messes with your head. Just go by what you see and like. I laughed
When I talked to the ARB guys they said you can stack them but not more than 5mm if you already have a t0mm, but you can take that with a grain of salt. He also said that when you do the ARB lift nobody puts it in and gets it done the first time. He said sometimes you have to play with the spacers and even may have to swap the AB springs from side to side depending if it leans or not.

I don't have the answer for you because I started this thread with the same exact questions. I am waiting for my new springs and figure I will be putting them in and taking them out and trying different things. I have some 3/4's on the side in case I need them. I will keep you posted, but I can see that this was a good question. I was feeling kind of alone with this issue, but I see now that others are struggling the same as me.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress as I will too.

Everybody is it's just how bad it bothers them. Mine still won't be perfectly level after this, but it will be improved. Good post!

I've even seen guys putting a spacer on just one coil to correct a lean. Trail and error, like you say. I get to pull my rear springs to correct my shock mounting location. Yay!

I have been following this from the beginning. I have a heavy duty OME lift with shocks still in the boxes. I have not had the time to install it. I would like to thank everybody involved because it is going to help me on my install.

You better get crackin' mister. Those things aren't going to install themselves...

Nice TJ, by the way!

Keep us posted on this thread if you would. Love your TJ by the way!

Take a ton of measurements before and after you start.
I should have my light rear springs in tomorrow or the next day so Saturday I should have them on and we can see what that does to my rear. I think the plan is to not change anything except the springs. I will measure drive around the block and see how it looks and decide if I need to pull the spacers or not. The rears are easier to do than the fronts, plus no follow up such as alignment. Other than drilling out the bracket for the track bar, it is a breeze. And now since that is done I should not take that long to do. I will post up some after pictures for sure.

Good luck.

Oh ya before you start measure from the lower control bracket on the frame where it welds on the bottom of the frame to the floor so when you are done measure there again to see where you are. Set your tire pressures to the same pressure before you start measuring just for a base.

I will be very interested to hear your thoughts as to how the 941 springs feel compared to the 942's. Be specific, and take your rig over various terrain.

Update:
I got my rear 941 rear springs today. I will post some pictures to show the difference. They are really close to the same height but the lighter one has more wraps.

I got them installed pretty quickly. Right off the bat it lowered the rear only about 3/4 of an inch. it still has quite the rake since I had a little over 2 inch rake. I am still not super happy, but I drove it and I would say it rides much better. I am not sure if that is all true but all of my vibrations especially from take off are gone. It is amazing what a 3/4 inch could do. It shifts better too since the shifter doesn't get buried in console. Seriously rides so much smoother. Don't get me wrong it drives better, but still looks weird.

I think this weekend I will take the rears back apart, and pull out the 10mm spacers in the rear as i left them in because I didn't know what it was going to do. I still think ti will have a rake. If I don't like it after that I will pull out the 10mm in the front and add 3/4 daystar in the front. I might hook up my trailer before I add the 3/4 in the front and see how much the light springs sag with my trailer. I do have to compromise because I rarely tow but sometimes I tow my quad on a light weight kendon trailer.

So to run it down
Pulling out the 10mm in the rear then pulling out the 10mm in the front and adding a 3/4in the front should lower the rear almost 1/2 inch and lift the front 1/4 inch. If I did my math right should give me about 3/4 rake.

I forgot to cycle my rear suspension, because I was in a hurry tonight is a work night and I had to seriously fly through it.

I'm doing the same except I am stacking the 3/4" daystar spacer on top of the OME 10mm puck and removing the 10mm pucks from the rear.

Here is a picture of the new springs vs the old springs. Also my truck as it sits now. It still has a rake. It is amazing what 3/4 of an in in the rear can do. My steering is almost back to perfect. It has understeer so bad it was a little scary on the freeway. Also lowering 3/4 of an inch moved my steering wheel off quite a bit. So tomorrow I am going to remove the rear spacers and re-align the front and re-evaluate.

Thanks, got up and went to work today. I am pretty sick today. Today bites. I hope I will be well enough to do that tomorrow. I am going to Barret Jackson on Sunday. If I can get better.

Lots to do and a short weekend to do it in. hehe.

Man I'm thinking all you need is to stack the 3/4" spacer on top of the OME puck up front. That should do it

I have that exact pack sitting in my living room right now so I could, and I am considering it. but I am leary to go up anymore in front because I am at the end of my new sway bar links and my steering is under-steering as it is. If I go up any more, I will need to add adjustable control arms. Not the end of the world but if I go down in the rear I think it will fix my understeer and save me some adjustable control arm moneys.

Besides all of that, I am thinking I might need to pull the rear spacers and add the 3/4 in front anyway, so I think I am going to start by pulling the rear first and see what I get from there,

I am excited to see how yours turns out.
