Why is this 1" body lift from M.O.R.E. the only kit with a "steering riser bracket"?

The plastic like to squeak after a few years.... not much you can do about it....I speak from experience

I promise that mine will not do that. There are a few reasons but the first and most important is the use of the word "plastic" to indicate a specific engineering grade of a high performance polymer. Plastic is like steel. There are 100's of varieties and alloys, and grades. To use steel to decribe high performance 300M for stupid strong axle shafts while accurate in that they are steel, it does not tell the whole story. In the same way, using plastic to assign any attributes to my acetal pucks is the same. They don't and won't squeak because there is a reasonable level of lubricity if you were to let the fasteners get loose. They are a very compression resistant grade of material with great mechanical strength and other properties that make them pretty darn ideal for what I'm using them for.

Because I don't do dumb shit and I won't let you run anything I won't run myself. I like to sleep well at night and the only thing I have that lets me do that is my integrity. I won't fuck you over in any way possible if there is anything I can do to avoid it.
 
It's not the same stuff. JKS is garbage or so I hear. Mrblaine doesn't make subpar products. (y)
p.s. If BM had a BL out back when I bought my Zone Offroad one (Polyphthalamide material), I would have bought it. @mrblaine is one of the few people that chooses quality over making a buck by cutting corners and using inferior materials. Thank God for that. It's rare these days.

I make less than the industry accepted standard of 35% on those body lifts and the only reason for that is they are already higher than they should be. I'm working pretty hard on lowering the price by really bumping up the number of pucks I'm having done. I'm not particularly happy about having that much tied up in pucks but I'm less happy about the retail price. Hopefully they get done soon and I can start lowering the retail a bit and actually make 35% on them.

Because the height of a body lift that you paid for should not be dependent on the torque value applied. As in if you want less lift, you tighten them a bit more. That also tells you that the material is squishy and unable to maintain the compressive resistance necessary to slow down the fasteners loosening.

I don't think he is a perv. I do however, think he is far more thin skinned than is prudent for someone that owns a Jeep. He is also old enough and smart enough to know when he is wrong but oddly, that seems to bother him when you correct his single point solution for all things DW.

I was looking for a body lift for my TJ. I was hoping to find a 1.25" kit with aluminum pucks. I came across this kit from Mountain Off Road Enterprises and noticed that they include a bracket for the steering that I do not see in any other kit. Do you think this is even needed if the other manufacturers do not include anything similar? Does anyone have experience with this body lift kit?

I wanted aluminum pucks, but I noticed this kit is only 1" and not 1.25" like the Savvy kit. Does the extra quarter inch make a difference for some reason that I would want it over the 1" kit? I plan on doing the aluminum belly up skid plate (ultra high clearance) from Under Cover Fab Works. Do you think 1" body lift would be enough? I will install a new crossmember to support the drivetrain.

After I installed the body lift, I noticed the steering felt different. There was some vagueness and reluctance to return to center.

I didn’t like the steep angle that the first steering U-joint was in. I installed the MORE steering riser and the steering went back to normal.

It was simple and fairly cheap. I recommend it.

So have anyone on here used the M.O.R.E. kit? I think the steering sounds like a good addition.

The pucks are aluminum, so the debate about "plastic" vs. homopolymer form of acetal, squishy vs. non-squishy, how long before it squeaks, etc. can be put to rest. I really want to use see if there is a negative to the M.O.R.E. kit other than I will lose 1/4" of height over the newer kits from Savvy and BMB, Which may be significant, but I don't know at this point until I start the belly-up.
 
I put the More steering shaft riser on mine years ago. At the time, the difference between with and without was so slight that I wasn't sure if it existed.
 
Long term if you want to install the savvy midarm that 1/4" extra is helpful to have
