Welp in process of removing all this mummified cloth tape from the whole engine harness
This section alone is taking me over 10 minutes,this shit is solidified dude
Some joints peel right off some not so much,it'll all be worth it once the pretty braided wire loom is in place though

This little section is being a pain
Sheared a wire by accident luckily its my 1st slip up and I'm basically done removing all this mummified Tessa tape and crispy bacon like wire loom

fixed the Sheared wire soldered it back rushed to put on heatshrink cleaned the rosin and just in time I struggled to put the heatshrink since it shrinked from the heat ofcourse

Also met this little guy while counting wires&debating if I should add a 47 way deutsch connection

Moved the metal box I had mounted in the back forward some so there is more convenient room between it and the tailgate. Since it was a bit far to reach I added a strut to keep it from opening all the way.

Oh boy you have no idea what I'm dealing with haha
A good part of these wire joints with the cloth tape is essentially solidified basically some of them I can get by with that method but even then that ain't enough
Gotta be patient and pick away

I keep toying with the idea of doing something similar, just not sure I want to loose the space. The other option I have been thinking about is making shelf / stand that would give me about 8” or so all across the bottom with some sort of pullout to get to stuff. It would be “secure” by tailgate being closed. Would still give me full depth of the space above that.

I've cleaned many a split bolt with that solidified mess on them. Using channel locks or pliers to kind of crack it sometimes helps.

I wasn’t part of team super secret, but I wrapped mine up this fall.

A peak into my R&D process.
1. Did some digging around, bent some pinch seams over and got my model drawn based off the dimensions I pulled.

2. 3D printed some profiles for testing. Once happy with the fit and height I had a short section cut and bent.

3.ordered full lengths. Countersunk holes and built torque box spacers and rub rails. Capped the front edge.

Very nice! One of the reasons we were doing this is to not only get the mini boatside, but also to cover the entire length of the rocker the way you have. I think it just looks really good! I also wanted to eliminate the step that my current sliders have in order to maximize clearance. A smaller rub rail towards the top is what I'm thinking but I haven't committed yet. It has been a very fun project for sure.

Are your sliders (vertical and horizontal part specifically) 90 degrees before install or did you add a ~1 degree over bend to help close the topside gap?

yeah channel locks and vice grips for the win, same with needle nose pliers, They've been a good help for me as of now

With tailgate locked you would need a saw to access it. I took it to the shooting range with no doors or top because I could. The guy I sold the jeep to still uses it.

I bought a lesser quality security encloser. The thought of having my gear with me all the time I like.

The quality of it is as of yet unknown.

A big part of wanting to make my own over buying Genrights was to build a different “step”. Mine is placed at an upward angle higher on the slider. It sticks out 2.5” from the body. Aesthetically I am more drawn to the tube style over the “bar” style that attaches near the top of the slider. Even tho the clearance is more with that style.

These are looking nice. The bits and pieces I have seen of project super secret sliders are coming together well.

Yes, the two bends do not add up to a 90. Preloading was required to get them to fit tightly against the tub.

Thursday I installed the BMB LED tail lights and yesterday I installed the license plate lowering bracket.
The design, fitment and quality for the price are quite exceptional.
