I don't even use the CD part. Just the radio and Bluetooth via an an add-on module plugged into the head unit's backside.

The vendor from whom I purchased the replacement OEM radio has been nothing but awesome.

I contacted them and told them the problem with the radio and that I'd like to try swapping it with another one. They agreed the lights being out was odd.

They told me how to process the return, I followed their instructions and they immediately provided a return label.

I sent the radio out on Tuesday, they got it today, and I had a refund before day's end.

The day I dealt with the return I ordered another radio to try; it's supposed to arrive early next week.

Fantastic customer service.

(@Granite you can hold on to that radio at least one more week.)

Helped a FB friend diagnose problems with his AX-15 transmission via Messenger...turns out it helps a lot when the shift tower is reasonably centered in the hole. Bolts parted way with the block and the transmission mount was in two pieces. Sounds like he's still got something going on in the front end...six inch lift...other questionable choices but he's happy enough with it...daily drives a landscape trailer with it.

Last weekend I bought a set of red half doors for $400.

I did a rare log-on to Marketplace to check for something completely different and happened to see them. I recognized the seller's name; it was a guy I worked with two jobs ago! After a couple quick messages I drove to his place to check out the doors. He'd bought them for his YJ. He just wanted half doors and picked them up, but didn't know how the door jambs/latches were different. The metal all looked good, no real dents or rust.

I think I was there about an hour and a half, with 10-15 minutes dealing with the doors. We spent more time catching up, talking about life, and how we got our Jeeps than we did dealing over the doors.

The interior panels are light gray and sun bleached, but I'll most likely refinish them. They also need exterior handles/latches and one mirror. The driver side mirror is there, it's one of the early open-arm style stalks. I'll probably replace it with a matching set of later style. Uppers were included, they are probably originals. They'll also probably get replaced at some point.

They've been in the back seat and cargo area of my Jeep since I got them because I've not been home before 1800 all week, and I've been pretty beat once I got home. I'll get to a better inspection/inventory maybe this weekend.

Could not get the torx bolts on the A-piler to budge. Pulled out of my driveway to have the SIL have a go on them. As soon as I head down the road I hear a brake shoe/pad dragging.

The list seems to be getting longer, not shorter.

My SIL was able to get all four bolts free without snapping them. Grab handles go on tomorrow.

......my clockspirng Said "No Mas" my airbag light Is on and my horn don't work haven't checked for Cruise control but I bet that's not working anymore either.
I checked fuses and relays and did some reading on here and I'm sure it's my clocksrping....with that being said goodnight

Adams rebuild my front driveshaft and sent it just in time for tonights snow. Tomorrow should be a fun trail ride.

I spent the afternoon cleaning up half door components.

The door uppers got a white vinegar then Simple Green scrub all over. Then some 303 Cleaner, finished up with 303 Protectant. The driver's window has a spot that will need some additional elbow grease. There are still dirt spots in the lower channel where the metal insert pegs come through. I'm not sure how to get in there.

The panels came off and got the same scrub down. While everything dried I test-fit the driver door to the Jeep, it was pretty much plug and play. The door's top rear seal seems torn or something. It hangs out from the door, but the door still closes. I might get new seals. Not sure yet. All the internals seem to be there on both doors. The locks lock, the handles actuate the latch; I do need to get exterior handles.

Then I went to work on the panels. The passenger panel is the most bleached. It's storage pocket was also bent. I'm sure it rolled over on itself at some earlier point in its life and crushed the pocket. I figured I'd use a heat gun to attempt reshaping the pocket. I also figured I'd see what I could do with the heat gun to bring out the original color. I once saw someone discussing how to make neat welds as making a series of cursive, lowercase letter "e"s. I used that technique with the heat gun. I'd warm a large section and then start detailing with the cursive letters.

I still need to deal with the bleach and gunk on the tops. I'd also like to figure out a way to refresh the interior lock/handle parts. They work, but they're really discolored. All for another day.

Looks like you did good with your purchase. I had no luck with the heat gun. The results were short lived and a few months after Idid them they looked worse than before. I ended up having them dyed.

This is what my full door cards looked like a few months after doing them with a heat gun...

And this the same panels after they were dyed..

The half doors and skins before and after refinishing..

I haven't hung them yet. Just rekeyed the door cylinders. Hinges were repainted as well. Weather stripping is in great shape but not reinstalled yet. The uppers are like new so they need nothing. I have new handles for inside and out.

Well, nuts. I figured the heat gun was free and would be a good test. I'll see how they do.

Even though my interior is dark, I kind of like the lighter gray for the doors. It goes with the CalTrend seat covers I have; black with charcoal stripe.

If I do end up dyeing these I'll keep it light, or shoot the middle between original and the dark color.

While I had the door mounted I sat in the driver's seat to check them out and thought, "Whoa, this is pretty damn cool."

Looking forward to getting these roadworthy.
