Questions about a newly purchased 5.9 Magnum swapped TJ

My engine was set farther forward than what AA suggested. So I can't run a mechanical fan setup. If you have the room the mechanical fan is your best option. You use a Grand Cherokee fan and 4.0 shroud.
As far as electric fans go I ran the Black Magic fan on my 5.2. I've now got a SPAL brushless fan along with a Wizard Cooling radiator. They aren't cheap but since I have the stroker motor I wanted to make sure I was cooling it the best I could.
Sometimes you don't have a choice. I wish my engine placement allowed me to.
If you're using an electric fan you've got to use a quality unit. And as @NashvilleTJ tested the type of electric fan makes a difference.
The Black Magic fan is supposed to be good for 3,000 cfm but I'm not positive.
One added thing, the Dodge Magnum 5.9 V-8 runs warm and is harder to cool than the 5.2. On the 1998 Grand Cherokee with the 5.9 they used electric fans from the factory.
And in case you weren't aware your operating temperature should be right around 210⁰.
I have seen so many shoddy electric fan installs that I guess it turns me off.
Totally understand and agree... I'm sure I'm guilty of doing a few of those shoddy installs when I was younger.
On the 2.5 one of the mods promoted back in 2003 was to use a 2 speed Ford Taurus fan. They are supposed to pull some serious CFM on high. And setup to come on low around 175-180⁰ helps with cooling.
To the OP, It might be an option for your TJ if room is an issue.
Here's how your TJ should be reacting when going into passing gear then torque converter unlocked and locked.
