Higher horses, higher revs & even higher torque, a streetable LJ engine swap

I don't want to cut off unused connectors from most of the harnesses yet. At least not until I have it 100% operational. So to keep dust and grime out of the connectors I made up some blank caps for them. Special thanks to @Mike_H who pointed me in the right direction for these. I spent the better part of a day finding the right parts for these connectors by searching Mouser but it felt like a fun scavenger hunt.

Downstream O2 sensors on the LS harness. My understanding are that these are only used for emissions testing and not tuning.

Lets go, not cheap and overwhelming with 10,000 airplanes but lots of neat things to see if you like old WW2 planes.

I asked for tickets before and it didn’t happen. He is a jeeper though, JK.

He hangs out with the red star pilots IIRC. One of his friends flew to Russia rented a mig and paid for a fuel trucks worth of fuel in it.

I always find pinning a rewarding feeling. It's detail-oriented and looks great when done right.

I am really enjoying connectors! The start up costs feel ridiculous paying for all of the special crimping and depinning tools but now that that's paid for it's not too pricey.

I've got more connectors to do and am looking forward to them.

I certainly an amateur in this domain from tools. Every tool I pick up in pinning/electronics makes every job easier... Like all things automotive, get the right tools and you can take a horrible and painful experience and make it very enjoyable.

Glad you're back to work on this beast! Looking forward to the progress.

Update from November 2022 that I had never posted...

When I highlined with the 4.0 and supercharger, I had lengthened the washer fluid pump wiring and hose to reach the other side of the grill. Now that I have space on the original side again I cut out my extensions and used a reservoir and pump from Chase Bays.

Another update from November 2022:

Custom intake is completed!

Parts list:

• Spectre Performance elbow (SPE-9785)
• Spectre Performance intake with MAF sensor pad (SPE-9718)
• Spectre Performance 4" Flex Boot (SPE-9775)
• 3/4" Hose Through Hull Fitting (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1226411545...pid=5337789113&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1)
• Vibrant Performance 0.750" I.D Silicone Vacuum Hose (2108)
• GM Performance filter (19302206)
• Outerwears 6" bottom diameter, 5-1/4 top diameter, and 9" tall (part # 20-1185-01).

The secret sauce is using a through hull fitting from a boat discharge port. I placed it between the MAF sensor and throttle body.

I then used a silicone hose to hook it up to the valve cover.

I'm not in love with the open air filter element and plan to remake it in a box with an OEM filter when I have more time. In the meantime, I put on a Outerwears water repellent prefilter and will be avoiding risky water crossings.
