What did you do to your TJ today?

Adam's Ceramic Graphine coating is great on everything, including wheels. I use it on all of my wheels and they always just rinse off with water.

Cool- my goal is to slow the oxidation. And protect from the various salts found in nature- mud holes en rte to the rocks really wrecked the shine.

Then I'd highly recommend the Adam's. I use it on all my vehicles including the paint, glass, wheels, and trim. It makes washing anything off the surfaces very easy.

Store it during winter...🤔 Yeah probably not going to happen.

I did do some reading on their website and the one they recommend for use on offroad vehicles is the Exo Series Black because of the dual material. It holds up better to impacts and scraping. I did a bunch of reading so I can't remember exactly where I read it, but coat the exhaust pipe with their Hi-Temp Silicone Coating Spray . They also suggest spraying the wrap after wrapping the exhaust.

The only reason I could think of to wrap muffler back is keeping heat away from the floorboard when you do a tummy tuck. It's not my picture so I can't speak to his reasoning.

Welp, it's my picture and I purchased 50' of wrap. Used 30' on the down pipe and had 20' left. Wrapped it around the remainder of the pipe in hopes of reducing the head in the rear tube.
Will it work? We will never know. But I don't have 20' of wrap setting on the shelf. 🤣

Well that answers the question I had brewing in my mind... how many feet I'll have to get to do my intermediate pipe. Since I'll be using the narrower Exo so, I'll probably need a roughly 40' total considering I also will be putting a straight pipe in instead of the 3rd cat.

I'd imagine it does make a difference even after the muffler especially when you're crawling around off road.

My 99 TJ might be getting a companion, a 99 XJ

Imo, it sounds more throaty and raspy with the third cat removed. I liked the sound of the 2-1/4” straight back to a magnaflow muffler.

I haven’t wrapped the 3” straight section that’s installed now bc it’s sitting pretty close to the lip of the transmission pan.

Actually yesterday, but my Jeep is now officially a 2-seater.

I kept the back seat and all its hardware, just in case I need it for whatever reason.

This provides a ton of lockable storage.

The lid fits tightly under the lip of the tailgate so it can't be opened without opening the tailgate.

And like almost all the reviews mentioned, it was missing some hardware.

So a trip to True Value and $15 later and all is bolted in and secure.

There's a good bit of room between the wheelwell and the front corners so I 'm going to see if I can come up with a mount/holder for fire extinguisher/first aid kit/whatever.

What brand is that? I have had the Tuffy Security Enclosure on my radar for about a year but just and let go of $700 for it. I use a Bestop InstaTrunk now and it works, but it would be far easier to load up the camp gear with a security deck and I've used the rear seat probably half a dozen times total..

It's the Hooke Road trunk.

I also looked at the Tuffy, but I wasn't keen on spending $700 for it.

Here it is on Amazon where it's $270, but I found mine on eBay.

It was on sale for $215 plus free shipping and the seller had best offer.

I submitted a $200 offer and got it.

Is it worth $200? For me, absolutely.

Someone could snatch my bag with $200+ of recovery gear in seconds if they had a mind to and it was in the open.

Just be aware that if you get it you will need to tweak it here and there, especially if you have a soft top.

The storage bins on the sides will interfere with the soft top bows when you fold it down.

You can flex the bows and make them fit, but I modified the bin mounting to bring it in closer to the trunk.

Ah yeah $100 is a bit rich for me for plastic caps but I'll keep an eye on them. Thanks!
Mine were ding'd up pretty bad so I covered them with HD rocker panel tape...
Kinda like this stuff... But I got a longer roll of it for a few bucks less in Pep Boys. Been on there a few years and looks like I just installed it.

I figured it was the Hooke Road version. Thanks. At $200 I wouldn't feel so bad if I hated it. I have a TrekTop NX frameless so no soft top bows.

Since its summer time and the A/C is used daily... I inspected the blower motor resistor and found debris impacted in the resistor windings and the outside protector cage was rusted.
Replaced with an OEM (04864957) resistor and kept the old resistor as a spare.
The hardest part of the swap was accessing the two of the four hidden screws for the damper actuator plastic protective cover to provide access to the Blower Motor Resistor.
The entire swap took less than 30 minutes...

Looks insanely good

Not a whole lot of work either. Flitz has a pre-clean spray that does most of the heavy lifting. I use both the Mother's Speed Ball and Flitz polishing wheels. Works ok in a hand drill but a die grinder is far faster and generates more heat which Flitz says is key. I'd have to agree. With the drill I can get them looking good but to get them to a high polish it takes air tools.

Cool- love to see pics of your tools of choice Mike. Good stuff.
