What did you do to your TJ today?

Ya I know they are not very liked here, and I don't really have an issue with the stock one, but I would like some more realestate under the hood, so I was considering one especially a small one like yours. I am not as afraid of you in that respect because we get little rain here and I have those kinds of air filters on all of my bikes so I always have cleaner on hand. I was more worried that I would introduce more issues, because I have none now.

Hell you pay for the shipping my old one is yours

I plan on replacing the valve cover gasket soon. But first I thought I'd get a head start and remove that stupid bloody wiring loom bridge thing at the back of the engine. It goes right over the back of the valve cover and it's a real prick of a thing. I think they might have started using them from around 04 on. It took me about an hour to do, I was just cutting and snapping bits off. Anyway, it's gone and will not be going back. So now, when I go to do the valve gasket, it should be a hell of a lot easier.
I have replaced the pinion oil seals and lots of other jobs over the last few years, this was the worst job of them all!
I think it's funny, the thing has a part number on it, Like who the hell is going to order one and install it!

I need to change my gasket as well and wasn't looking forward to that wiring mess, but you have given me inspiration :)

I had a chance to check for clearances after the bump adjustments, new shock installation, and Antirock installation. It took awhile because right after everything was installed my ARB shit the bed while I was in the process of getting it up some some ramps. The rest of the time that day was spent figuring out what happened. Fast forward to the ARB being now being fixed and I was finally able to check it out. I found that the Antirock was limiting travel due to hitting the bumper. After trimming a bit of material off of the bumper, the additional travel ended up needing an additional inch of bump in front. For the most part I’m happy. I would like to spend more time going over it all, but that will need to wait for another day.

what are 2 holes on the right of both bumpers? I love the blue color!
EAG in their infinite wisdom, drills those nice little holes in their new bumper for the privilege of attaching their stinking logo. Pictured below. No way! Going to have to find a couple rubber plugs or something

UGG that blows, I had the same thing on a bull bar when I had my JKU...when I was in the keys I found this fish metal cut out and riveted in the 2 holes.

I need to find the time to thoroughly check clearances too. I’ve had no problem on tough trails except rubbing my disconnected sway bars, but it needs to be done right. Good work!

You guys with left hand drive Jeeps have it a bit easier than our right hand drive ones. We also have to deal with the two water heater hoses that go over the back of the engine as well!
Something we "lefties" have probably never considered. Thanks for that piece of information! ;)

I wanted to remove the auxiliary light brackets from the windshield hinge brackets the previous owner had on. I noticed that the driver side upper two screws were missing and there were no threads visible in the holes, the nut plate had fallen inside the frame. Not good. I removed the hinge and I could see the nut plate but I could not get it positioned. I also saw that the PO had broken off a screw in the lower hole. What to do. I do a lot of woodwork and I have switchable magnets for holding feather boards and such on my table saw. I grabbed the biggest one I have, fished the nut plate as close as I could to the windshield frame and turned the magnet on. Voila, the nut plate came right to me so I could get a bolt in the one good hole and drill/tap the bad hole out. Success!
I love it when a plan works.
