Why is this 1" body lift from M.O.R.E. the only kit with a "steering riser bracket"?

So have anyone on here used the M.O.R.E. kit? I think the steering sounds like a good addition.

The pucks are aluminum, so the debate about "plastic" vs. homopolymer form of acetal, squishy vs. non-squishy, how long before it squeaks, etc. can be put to rest. I really want to use see if there is a negative to the M.O.R.E. kit other than I will lose 1/4" of height over the newer kits from Savvy and BMB, Which may be significant, but I don't know at this point until I start the belly-up.

Been running the MORE from when there were the only choice and it has done exactly what it is supposed to. If I were to do it again since there are choices now I would run a BMB with a MORE steering bracket. That .25 inch does not seem like a lot but for things like tummy tucks it does make life a bit easier.

Is it just the extra 1/4"
as mentioned by the man himself that 1/4" may not seem like much until you're trying to push that 241 t-case up with a flatter skid plate
or the black color?
I like the raw aluminum look and my LJ is wrapped in raw aluminum so the color was a non-issue to me. For some that are body lift adverse it does help "hide" the puck as opposed a bright, bare aluminum puck.
Maybe the chamfer on the pucks?
Take a look at the shape of a body mount assembly. It is another example of the well though out designs of mrblaine.
That's all I see different besides the plastic vs. aluminum.
The most important difference to me between the three vendors is that the BMB acetal pucks are developed and sold by mrblaine. I know him and have seen firsthand the attention to detail that he puts into builds and products.

I'm running the More steering riser with 8 pucks of the Savvy body lift missing! 🤫

Debated posting this here vs starting a new thread…but I think the side discussion over BL material types and variable heights on the squishy ones makes this a good spot…

With these hard BL’s and the discussions about extra .25”…what is the effect when adding rock rails that place a 3/16” steel plate between the body and the puck? These rails attach to the 2 mounts mid rocker on each size. I would think the squishy type can compensate, but do I need to cut 3/16’s off the hard pucks? I just ordered the BMB kit yesterday…

Never use rock sliders that attach to the body mounts. There is your answer.

I’m curious your thoughts on this…why? I did a little research as it bothered me at first glance…I assumed they would be terrible and wanted something that attached to the frame, like the Shrockworks I had on my old 4runner. However, the ones that do that for Jeeps I read are actually weaker by the way they attach with self tapping bolts plus the length they sit away from the frame adding leverage. Seems like some of the beefier ones all sandwich the rails between the body mounts and one company showed they can jack the vehicle from them.

Again, I assumed frame was strongest but I was surprised to see the beefier ones all mount this way. Very interested to here argument the other way!

So thankful to have seen this - was able to cancel my order for the body mount style. I thought that was the same as tub mount but I see the difference, with backing plates etc. I’ll do some research and pick some up. We don’t have a ton of large rocks where I’d wheel, but I don’t want to cheap out on parts. Function over form for me…I’ll read through the thread, thanks!

The question is “what are your sliders supposed to do?” Once you answer that correctly you can see how they should be built and mounted to accomplish that task. Then the issue becomes finding a slider that meets the right criteria. That can be hard to do these days.
 
Realistically, my first priority was adding a step for my kids. But I also prefer overbuilt and want something structurally sound. I don’t wheel in large boulder / rock gardens, but would like some well-designed protection and a hi lift jack point is a bonus. I thought the ones the sandwiched in the body mount with supplemental rocker attachments fit the bill, but now I question that and don’t want to drill the body to find it wasn’t the right choice (I don’t mind drilling, but want to be sure it’s the right solution first). I guess back to drawing board…
