That is an easy argument, Being part of the No Plug Wire crowd is WAY cooler than any LS will ever be. It's a MoPar thing...
Come on now it's a Jeep and deserves as Jeep engine... They put Hemis in Grand Cherokees... Penny for Penny depending on your location the cost of a LS vs a Hemi are now fairly even. If you can score a 5.7 or 6.4 out of a newer Ram or Grand Cherokee with the new 8 speed transmission you'd be more than happy with it.

I'd say more like a armored division & the 5th fleet but doubt that'd be even enough.
Now if I was building a nice rod? Then maybe there might be a LS in the picture.

Oh come on, you could have the first jeep that's had a Magnum, Hemi and an LS in it.
ow why would you want to go wish such terrible things upon me? We've had this discussion before, the Jeep will be pushed off a cliff before a LS even come close to it's engine bay.
We all want your hemi to work out great. If anyone deserves a decade of trouble free wheeling it's you

Maybe once my daughter gets rich & has some wheeling experience with her Jeep I'll convince her to all me to do a V-8 swap.

I did say I'm open to being convinced. You make some good arguments - especially on pricing and availability.
Still hoping this decision would be a long way off... Got enough new fun parts in this Jeep right now that need wearing in.
Put the driver headlight back in after using touch-up paint for some of the spots inside the grill.
Still need to fold the windshield back down to silicon wipe the windshield gasket.
Plus, I picked up a 4oz container of POR-15 to address these areas, after sanding.
They'll be under cover with the windshield reinstalled so I'll just sand, paint, clear coat and hope the POR-15 stops the rest from growing.

Basement project has reached a plateau where now we're dealing with onesie/twosies for what needs it's own bin.

Started to work on the tailgate.

Started by wet sanding at 800 and then once I realized it was not rust in the clear coat but rust in the tailgate, I moved to 400 grit.
Here's the final product for tonight:
Upper holes weren't as bad but hit them for a minute or so to knock down some rust:
Since this will be covered by the MORryde plate, I'm going to use this as an opportunity to test my painting prowess with a spray gun for the first time. And that will require ordering more paint.
So this is the stopping point at this moment until I get more paint and I'll use some more aggressive and likely mechanical sanding to get down to good metal and hand taper it into the existing paint.

Steering wheel went back on pretty easily since I've had it on and off so many times recently...
Cruise control wiring was a little confusing since both connectors had the same connector and wire colors.
But the OEM also has the same wiring colors...
Test Cruise control on and off with each connector and it turned on and off with either one connected. Joe, I'll have to diagnose if the cruise control works once the Jeep is back on the road and swap if not.
After that, airbag went back in and we're ready to rock.
New Cruise control buttons look great!
