Pentastar V6 in a TJ

the upside to the jku was the mileage on the highway, not sitting at 3000rpm at 100km/hr is nice lol.
Agreed, the 3.6 adequate one the freeway, and it is more quiet. If I am going on a long trip I typically take the JKU. But the LJR is my go to for around town, going off reading etc. I am hoping to take the LJR to Moab one day.

Have always been fond of the inline-6 engine configuration.
Comes from running logging equipment for 40+ years.
Big Caterpillar and Cummins power.
Along that line, a 292 GM or a 300 Ford would also be
an interesting transplant. Both have a big following in the
speed equipment availability, and they would be torquey.
The Ford would give you 50cu.in per hole, up from the stock 40 Jeep.

I've got one of these, too, in a truck that I've had since'98. I love the engine, but it's a Big Block, and weighs 550 lbs. By the time you got that stuffed into a TJ, you'd have to reach into the back seat area to work the stick shift...

om606 from mercedes is the ideal swap in my opinion if staying inline 6.
