Hello all, posting this up to see if anyone else has had a similar experience with this brand/part.

I purchased the RockJock CurrectLync Steering kit a little under 2 years ago. My TJ sees light off-roading, and is my DD. I do not beat on it. I run 33x11.50 tires. The DS tie rod end is loose with up/down play. The drag link end has the same symptoms. You would think for a "heavy-duty upgrade" kit, parts would last longer. Heck, my factory steering components lasted 26 years just fine...thoughts?

What is the pliers supposed to show?

Buy a different brand. Every brand has their fanboys and haters. Try something different this time.
Since you went there, what they are doing is the equivalent of getting on here and telling everyone your tires are under inflated because they are flat on the bottom. Of course, that is wrong because that isn't how it works and it is just as wrong as compressing the spring in a TRE and proclaiming it defective, or worn out. It has nothing at all to do with being a fucking fanboi or hater and everything to do with the proper way to test wear in a steering system regardless of manufacturer. The problem with the tolerence of fuckwittedness is if they applied the same test to their new different brand system, it will fail in the exact same manner.

Update for those interested.

Spoke over phone w/RockJock today. There is in fact a “spring” layer in the ball joint - I have never heard of this before. They said in order to check play, you wiggle side to side, not up/down like you traditionally would. Mine did in fact have play side to side.
Conclusion, two of the ends on my RockJock CurrectLync steering kit wore out in under 2 years. RockJock is warranting it, replacement already in the mail! Stuff happens, even with name brands.

Thats interesting.... I purchased a used Currectlync and installed the assembly on my '01 TJ.
I drive my Jeep as a DD with very light off roading....
When I installed the assembly I made sure I greased the TREs prior to installation and I periodically grease them.
The TREs are still working fine.... 5 years later.
Approximately 25 years ago I installed a slightly used Currectlync on my '98 XJ.
I made the 1100 mile trip to Moab every year for 15+ years where I explored most of the trails and 75% of the obstacles.
Explored Johnson Valley, Big Bear Mtn trails and the Anza Borrego Desert; after all those trips the only TRE that I needed to replace was the one that connected to the pitman arm.
So either the quality of their TREs have decreased or the TREs are not being greased regularly.

Nice! Not saying they’re bad, I like RockJock. As I mentioned before, sometimes stuff happens, bad batches, etc. I keep up with routine maintenance. The RockJock employee actually told me he’s seen several cases of customers OVER greasing the TREs, and warned about it.
