Some people chose not to celebrate July 4th and instead stand behind this movement…
People are calling Major Jason Watson “brave” for standing on the Capitol steps in uniform and demanding the impeachment, conviction, and removal of President Trump and Vice President Vance…
Okay…
But Brave for what exactly?
What specific impeachable offense did President Trump commit?
Not “I do not like his policies.”
Not “I hate his tone.”
Not “I disagree with immigration enforcement.”
Not “I think he has too much power.”
What did he actually do that rises to the constitutional standard for impeachment?
The Constitution is clear:
A president can be impeached for treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors..
That does not mean every controversial decision…
That does not mean every policy you oppose.
That does not mean every military action you would have handled differently.
Presidents have always made decisions people hated…
They have used executive authority.
They have enforced immigration laws.
They have used military force.
They have made appointments, issued controversial pardons, negotiated with foreign governments, used power without congressional approval and pushed policies their opponents considered dangerous…
Disagreement is not impeachment…
Losing an election is not impeachment.
Being offended is not impeachment..
And calling for impeachment without being able to clearly name the crime, abuse of office, bribery, or constitutional violation you are accusing someone of is not courage…
It is political theater.
Major Watson reportedly accused the administration of going to war with Iran without congressional approval…
That is at least a specific argument people can debate…
But even then, presidents of both parties have used military force abroad without a formal declaration of war from Congress. That has been a major constitutional debate for decades …not some brand-new Trump-only offense.
If launching military action without a fresh congressional vote is automatically impeachable, then are we applying that standard to Truman in Korea, Clinton in Kosovo, Obama in Libya, Biden in Syria, and multiple Republican presidents too?
Specific Examples:
* Harry Truman — Korea, 1950. He committed U.S. forces to the Korean War without a congressional declaration of war or specific authorization. This is one of the biggest historical examples.
* Ronald Reagan — Grenada, 1983; Libya, 1986. He ordered military operations without prior congressional approval.
* George H. W. Bush — Panama, 1989. He sent U.S. troops into Panama before Congress authorized force.
* Bill Clinton — Kosovo/Yugoslavia, 1999. He continued the NATO air campaign after the War Powers Resolution’s 60-day period without Congress passing an authorization.
* Barack Obama — Libya, 2011. He authorized military action in Libya without a new congressional authorization; critics argued it violated the War Powers Resolution.
* Obama, Trump, and Biden — Syria and other counterterrorism operations. All relied in part on older authorizations from 2001 and 2002 rather than obtaining a fresh vote for each operation.
This is a serious war-powers debate, but it is not a brand-new Trump-only offense…
So let’s get specific.
What did Trump do that every other president has not done?
What exact law did he break?
What exact constitutional duty did he violate?
What actual impeachable offense are we talking about?
Because “remove him because I think he is dangerous” is not how a constitutional republic is supposed to work…
The military should never become a partisan weapon…
And impeachment should never become a word people throw around every time they lose politically…
If you chose to not celebrate the country you live in, work in, raise your children in and enjoy your freedoms in because “orange man bad” that’s your choice..
But if your loyalty to this country is only contingent to who is in the white house… …then your loyalty is not to America..
Faith. Family. Freedom.
