Anybody up for a random meme dump?

Of all things .gov spending, the USPS was authorized by the constitution. The roads for it too.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is constitutionally authorized under the Postal Clause in Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the U.S. Constitution, which grants Congress the power "To establish Post Offices and post Roads." While the Constitution does not explicitly name the USPS, this enumerated power forms the legal basis for the federal government's authority to regulate and operate the postal system.

There are plenty of non-constitutional spending to squash first. Like USAID and the fraud NGOs they are finding.

Impressive gear box, would not be using Prussia Blue for contacts though. But you use what you have.

Below is just the bottom section, two more sections are attached to it when installed. So 11 Shafts with 24 gears total with 8 clutches for various gear ratios. Each gear has to be painted to record the contacts per our inspection process. So a lot of shaft rotations and gear painting!

Probably more information than you wanted on a Sunday morning :)

I'd hate for this to sound "anti-British"...but maybe do your homework before posting. I'm not suggesting anything about the guy one way or another, but you make comments and you clearly haven't bothered to understand who or what you are talking about. It diminishes or eliminates any impact you hope to have with your remarks.

Big orange man bad. Maybe next you can give us your uninformed opinion on ICE. 😖

OK, I’ll bite…

I know why Trump was wearing military uniform in that photo. The question is, why was that photo chosen for that meme?

The answer appears to be to contrast Trump - good American, ready to fight for his country - with Obama - hippie dope-head - and Michelle Obama - apparently transgender.

But we all know that Trump was ‘unable’ to fulfil his military commitment. That makes the use of the photo (which you admit is actually of Trump as a minor, with no call-up liability) insulting to those who have, in fact, served their country - many of whom I believe hang around on this forum.

It’s not ‘orange man bad’ (although he’s clearly mentally dubious), but it’s ’that meme offensive to serving US personnel’.

Good old Washington state.

The “watch for falling cows” road sign is most famously associated with Washington State, where it was placed after a real 2007 incident in which a 600‑pound cow fell about 200 feet off a cliff on State Route 150 near Manson, landing on a minivan Cowboy State Daily+1.

The sign is located on the lakeside of SR 150 between Chelan and Manson, near Lake Chelan, and faces the highway at a 90‑degree angle from normal signs Roadside America. It commemorates the event and serves as a cautionary reminder to drivers in that area.

Having Bessie drop through your sunroof at terminal velocity would fuck up your day

In theory, that's how SS is supposed to work. The issue lies in the fact that it won't be working that way for much longer, and I might suggest the crux is gross mismanagement. When liars and thieves manage the money, one shouldn't be surprised when the money disappears. Assuming I live long enough, I doubt I'll ever see anything from that system...but I'll bet they'll keep stealing the funds from my paycheck, just the same.

As for the USPS, I have mixed feelings. Most complain about them because of local experience, fair enough. But I can say that my local is good, and I've never had a damaged or lost parcel through the USPS that I can recall. I cannot say the same for Fed-Ex or UPS, both damage thing on a fairly regular basis. Of course, Amz trumps them all...

I have noticed that almost anything shipped from the west (particularly the coast) moves like molasses in an Alaskan January. No sense of urgency, it seems, regardless of the services paid for. Just my personal experience.

I think I've taken a train once, not including old steamers. Can't really say I have an opinion.

If they could only leave the piggy bank alone they wouldn't need to borrow money from current depositors to pay the old depositors... But NOOOOO "oh look... there's some money just sitting there accruing interest..." "Let's borrow that money, put an IOU in it's place so it accrues less than half of what it could have, then when it comes time to pay that IOU, we'll just borrow more money from something else to pay it to the ones who put it there in the first place"...

Paul meet Peter... Sincerely the US Government.

And here I was thinking it was because it was a joke in a joke thread.

Silly me.

Brits lack the cognitive ability to understand a LOT of American humor.

He thinks, all of us that signed our name on a blank check to the US should be offended at the sight of teenage Trump in a "military school uniform" which is in no way actually affiliated with the armed forces.

Don't distort the picture with facts...

First, it is NOT a military uniform... If you can't figure that out with the information provided to you, since you were too lazy to do your own research before acting the fool... then there's no hope for you!!!

Second, your assertion that we Americans who voluntarily made that commitment should be insulted
by a teenager's private boarding school uniform is completely idiotic.
You are failing to grasp a basic truth: actual service members do not equate a high school dress code with active-duty military service. We know the difference between taking an oath to defend our country and attending a civilian prep school, even if you cannot seem to untangle the two.

Finally, projecting a fake military weight onto that photo just to manufacture an insult on our behalf is what is truly laughable. Real veterans do not need a foreigner trying to dictate what should offend us based on their own total confusion.

American rant over..

Now back to our regularly scheduled meme show!!!

Don't be to hard on him, he is after all from "Perfidious Albion", he just doesn't understand as there's no background of freedom for him to fall back onto.
