Should have a busy weekend on the jeep ahead of the camping trip. No kids with me this time, so I'm planning to build a platform in place of the passenger seat rather than fighting with a tent. The wheeler formerly known as XJ Buddy built something that works pretty well, but it blocks off the glovebox and I'd like to not have that be the case. But we'll see what I can come up with using the scraps I have on hand. And assuming I won't be able to find used canvas doors in the next two weeks, I have to decide if I'm using the steel halves, and then if SOMEHOW I can store them in the jeep if I want to go doorless (which I want to do pretty much 100% of the time), but last year we got caught in massive rain so I'm a little cautious this time.
And then a new radio coming. Abbree AR-8118 for $79. Notarubicon raved about it esp for the price. I don't expect the antenna to be worth much, but all I really need is at most to be able to talk to the head/caboose of the train so it should be fine. At worst they'll hear me much better than the UV5R's we all carry, but I might not be able to hear them any better than I could before.
