I’m just stuck atm because I actually have both the mml and a TC drop because I passed on the mml when trying to install it we were running into having to take the alternator out etc and such and I bought the TC drop impulsively because I was so tired of the vibrations so I’m stuck with both, it’s a 1.5 drop and I never wanted to do it, but it wont look too bad I guess

I used 1in squat tubing and six grade 8 bolts. Washers would have worked but I think it looks better. My issue now is having trouble getting into 2nd and reverse. It's hitting the console

Took the Jeep camping yesterday at Alexander springs, FL. Made the reservations for two nights, friends backed out so i didn’t go the first night until I just went ahead and went by myself for the second night. It was so nice View attachment 64557View attachment 64558View attachment 64559

Nice pics.....but I was wondering how you banana board leaning up against you front wheel did on that terrain ? ;)

Think a 1mml will eliminate the need for a 1 TC drop?

Every jeep is different. This is important to remember.

But it did all me to remove all my drop. I had 1in drop before the Replacement.

Specs.
97 sport 4.0 AX-15 tranny. 231 transfer case. I removed my transfer case drop and have had no vibration.
Lift sits as of now about 3-4 inches.

Installed one (1), I repeat one Wild Boar grab bar today, as I was pressed for time.

Very happy with this item, very solid. Though I'm not happy about having to do some extensive cutting of the interior frame molding to install the bar (nothing was said of such requirement in the product lit or customer reviews). But, no big deal, I've gotten over it. Function-over-Form.

I believe these bars to be critical when rapidly fleeing a hot-zone after a night op, while evading enemy fire, on the run, and when you only have like 0.05 seconds to make a grab--and that grab has to work.

Swapped my half doors for my full doors and assembled my Bestop Trektop NX. I absolutely hate that roof. It just plain doesn't fit and it leaks through the rear window like crazy. I've had it for a year and a half and I can never ever get it to fit right no matter what order I put things on and no matter how hot it is outside. I'm looking forward to the day when I can just run my hardtop in the winter and keep it topless in the summer.

But anyways, Jeep heads to the shop tomorrow for a huge amount of maintenance and upgrades so I guess I can't complain too much.

Update on my roof situation. Bestop is sending me a new top piece and all new windows. Really, really great customer service on their part. Their support agreed that there must be something wrong with my top as it is just too far from zipping up to right.

I'm very impressed with bestop. I ordered the top nearly two years ago but they were still extremely helpful. I always like dealing with companies that will help you out if something goes wrong. Hoping my new top works better!

I’d definitely remove the TCase drop and see. I think you’ll be fine

Nice find on the end caps, I was just thinking this morning how the stock rear bumper would look without the extensions.

the end caps came in & having wrapped up the Eastwood project I finally had a chance to put the bumper back on yesterday & pop them on, liking the look much better:

Installed some new acorn nuts on the studs for my snowboard roof rack rails. They had been sticking out 1/2" too long with red rubber covers for nearly 20 years. I cut them with bolt cutters, filed the ends, and put the acorn nuts on. Now they look much cleaner.

Also put in a couple pieces of tubing on the front clasps of my hard top to see if I can get a slightly stronger seal on the top front windshield seal. (I saw someone else on here had tried that, so for $0.49 it was worth a try.)

Also took it for a little ride on some mountain trail roads. Climbed >2000 feet in elevation. I can't wait to get new 4.56 gears soon...
You will be really happy when you get your 4.56 gears.

Did you treat the inside of your frame with Eastwood? If so, how many cans did you need. I'm planning that project for the spring. Thanks.

yes, I first did it last winter & I think I used 5 cans total. Then over the course of the spring I accidentally damaged some of it by inserting the tip of the self-car wash pressure washer in the large round holes to flush the rails a bunch of times so I had to redo the entry points. It was during that process that I decided to take a closer look at the rear section, ended up redoing that section too so another 2 cans went in this round.

You can probably do the entire frame with 3 or 4 cans provided you get good coverage, I'd suggest the coat hanger method to keep that tip under control. In fact take a look at this whole thread for some general ideas:

Replaced wiring connector to blower resistor. It didn’t come out as aesthetically satisfying as I would like but I now have all four blower fan speeds. I might have to re-do it so it doesn’t bug me.
