Side mirrors. Else I would not be able to take doors off in California.
The one I'm doing right now at this minute, whatever it is.
From a technical standpoint tires are probably the most important mod you can do. Any other mod is irrelevant if you’re running the wrong tries. After that lockers and a lift, tummy tuck and air.
Better headlights. Stock headlights isis like driving blind.
The very first one I did was cruise control. Helps keep me from speeding when I can just set it at 70 and cruise in the right lane. Works really well with the manual transmission

Second the headlights mention for most important here.
Stock rubicon 31” tires, NSG370 transmission, 4.10 gears. At 70 mph it’s cranking 2700 Rpm in 6th.
I’ve hit 85+ unintentionally on flat ground. I have no doubt it would do 90 in 6th gear or even 100 left in 5th. I don’t want to try though. I also don’t know if there’s a governor.
My top three all at similar levels of appreciation.

ahhh yes forgot about my seat heaters...best $50 I spent so far on the TJ!

Self-powered 10” compact sub and new head unit is up there, for me. However, new suspension and tires definitely first, as I was riding on 14 year old original springs, control arms and mismatched tires. Was like a new Jeep after the install.
