On a 2006 jeep wrangler tj four wheel drive with a six speed manual transmission and a 4.0 engine how should it run when you unplug the airflow sensor
How should my 4.0 run when unplugging the airflow sensor?

Airflow sensor? These things don't have a mass airflow sensor.
Are you thinking of something else?
They do have a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor though located on the throttle body. Pretty sure it immediately dies when you pull it.
TJs don't have a mass airflow sensor, they use a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Instead of measuring actual airflow the MAP sensor measures the pressure in the intake manifold to intuit the amount of air flowing into the engine.
As far as unplugging it, I've never tried. I assume it would go an open loop baseline failsafe and illuminate the MIL. Might still run enough to get you home. MAPs are pretty resilient and don't fail too often.

If its missing , it will suck in air and make a lean pop likely . I'd slap another in and hook it back up .. if you are determined not to , plug the hole to the air /fuel stays correct. It will also suck in unfiltered air...not a good thing .
