What did you do to your TJ today?

Took off the top and took the wife out for a drive. Uncovered an annoying squeak coming from somewhere up front, and possibly might be looking for a radiator. It stays right at 210 at slower speeds, but if I get it on the freeway it increases. Maybe a good flush of the radiator?

My new front bumper arrived late yesterday afternoon and my winch arrived the other day... so today I ..
1: removed stock front bumper
2: installed new bumper:
3: tries to install the winch
4: removed front bumper
5: installed winch on front bumper
6: reinstalled new bumper...

didn’t realize at first that it would be almost impossible to install the winch after the bumper was in place lol

Finished up with the front axle bushing replacement and the last of the Core 4x4 adjustable arm set from my purchase last summer. Had been waiting to do the front uppers so I could do the bushings at the same time. Ball joints and hubs (and front u-joints while I'm there) will have to wait a bit. Calling for thunderstorms for the next 4 or 5 days.

It was a little while ago, but just before I sound deadened the interior I installed a new soft top. The Bestop Twill Supertop NX is probably the nicest soft top I’ve ever ran! And definitely the most expensive one I’ve bought to date, but so far it’s worth it. It has made the interior much quieter than my Smittybilt top did, even before the Noico installation. I also installed a set of Body Armor 4x4 side rocker guards, and changed my door handles. I think I’m gonna change the fender flares next.

I tried to take some pics from the front. One I am holding a tent stake of some sort to try to show that is just barely clears. The adjustment the links are at now, I can only move those pins up or down. Either way, they would still be close to the sway bar.

As far as what did I do today, I went around and touched up any rock chips and such in my purple paint. To do that, I spray paint into a bathroom cup and use a Qtip to brush or dab the paint. Well today I learned you can't use plastic bathroom cups. LOL Going to have to buy some more paper cups. :D

See the purple drops on the concrete? LOL

I have also used this technique, but i spray the paint in the lid that came on the paint..then just wipe out any excess.

Changed the oil today. I really wanted to run a high mileage oil due to the additives that I believe help with seals and the like, but I didn't want a synthetic or a synthetic blend oil. Finding a high mileage conventional was not as easy as I thought it would be. I did find that Pennzoil and Mobil make a high mileage conventional 10W30 but it's expensive ($33 for a 5 qt jug). After a lot of searching I did find the Mobil at Walmart for $20 a jug if you buy 3 with free 1 day delivery. Now I have oil for my next change anyway.

I got the Jeep back from the shop with its new oil pan! I had dropped off a new oil filter and new oil as well. Stuck with the Pennzoil High mileage conventional oil 5W30 (I have a 2.5L and had read that this was the preferred oil viscosity for them).

For @CodaMan and anyone else looking to do an oil change, Home Depot has motor oil for pretty cheap! I bought a 5qt jug of Pennzoil High Mileage Conventional 5W30 for $17. They also have10w30, the synthetic versions of both, and both Castrol high mileage conventional and synthetic. All for half of what you’d pay at an auto parts store.

Oh, almost forgot a pic!

The shop wasn’t able to do the track bar install. The mechanic told me that the owner got weirded out about having to drill out the mounts. So I’m gonna bring it to a guy who owns a small Jeep/Off-road suspension shop and have him get rid of the dropped track bar mount and install this bad boy! But until then, here’s a pic of the Currie/Rock Jock CE-9120TJJ in all of its pre-installation glory 😍

if this continues, I don't know if I can still save the TJ. Today, the worst-case scenario occurred for me.
The rear axle has to be completely removed, I haven't done anything like this until now.
I have not yet decided whether I can get a used axle (used parts are difficult to find here)
or whether I can repair the axle.
