Finally got the bumper on! It really tucks up there nicely. I have some tie in brackets on their way so ill be more comfortable recovering with the rear tow points but i couldn't be much happier with it!

How do you get to the tailgate latch with that monster tire on there? What tire carrier is that? Looks awesome btw.
Thanks! It latches super easy tbh, kinda need to lift in since im missing the little bushings that go on the stock arms but its pretty smooth. Its a Crawler Conceptz carrier, theyre expensive but i got mine used for like $250.

edit: if anyone knows where i can get the little hinge bushings please let me know. I havent been able to find them in my searching.

Yesterday I finally got her out to test out the 35’s on Sourgrass. They really do make things too easy, had me trying to find the most difficult lines possible then made them easy! The Yokohamas have some serious grip too, in a spot where my grabbers slipped coming out of water in a rocky section these stuck like glue. The Jeep also incured its first bit of body damage cause i backed it into a rock and took a bad line coming back across the river crossing and booped the corner.

I suppose this shows the downside to not having a full width bumper although looking at the flare i wouldve still probably had some damage if i had the old bumper on. All in all it was a good trip and i cant wait to get out again although i should probably invest in some corner armor before then. Also im gonna try to straighten the tailgate but if anyone has one on nor cal let me know!

After work today i got some time to try to fix the tailgate. It didnt come out perfect but it doesnt rattle like crazy anymore and both opens and closes as easily as before the damage. Heres some before and after pics.

Heres how she looked before, spent about an hour on it with a highlift and bfh to make it workable.

Heres the final product. Still ugly as hell but itll be fine since it is a trail rig after all. She definitely need some corner armor next so i may be making a call to poison spyder on Monday!

Edit: For the first time since it was stock the tailgate doesn't rattle!

You have me thinking about corner armor also now.

The dents just give it some character.

Glad to report she still cleans up nice! Also noticed I scratched my new bumper up pretty good this weekend too.

Anyone have recommendations on corner armor? Id like to go aluminum but it has to be something i can get quickly. I like Savvy’s setup but from my understanding they take a long time to ship and though i like Genright i have a hard time justifying $550 for corners.

Just placed an order for a set of Savvy aluminum corners! Hopefully they make it here before my Rubicon trip in a few weeks. Next question is to polish it and rub it or attempt to paint match it to the Jeep.

My vote goes to paint match.
