Currie Front Trac Bar: CE-9120TJJ vs CE-9120TJS

Looks like TJS does not come with a axle side bolt. TJJ comes with a 1/2' axle side bolt and housing plate.

There is a bolt upgrade you can do with a grade 8 bolt and stock flag nut. Lets you increase the torque on the axle side. I would not recommend reusing the stock hardware either way you go.

TJS uses the stock bolt or equivalent

TJJ needs to be drilled out to 1/2” and used the supplied 1/2” bolt and flag nut.

They both use the same size JJ on the frame side but it’s a different bushing on the axle side.

If you go with the TJS order up one of these from BMB.

I can’t say what is better but it seems like a lot of people are running the TJS with no issues

I went with the TJJ specifically for the larger bolt on the axle side.

It was an easy remedy for the wallowed out bolt hole I inherited from the PO.

I run whichever one uses the stock sized axle bolt even though the axle is drilled for the larger bolt. The difference between the two is the bushing. The stock bolt version is a dual durometer with more rubber material than the drilled version.

Exactly why the larger bolt (the one I own) is less desirable.

Thanks everyone, sounds like the TJS is the right one. Keeps the stock axle side bolt. And the 5/8” frame side.

Get a new axle side bolt though....the stock can only handle maybe 55 ft lbs? The grade 10.9 bolts can do 75 which helps with wallowing out the hole.

Is the flag nut okay, or would you swap that too?

So you are calling @mrblaine’s and curries product useless? There are many threads showing this to be beneficial.

That’s not how I read it, having no use vs being potentially unnecessary are pretty different.

I linked the one from BMB more so because the flag nut is a much better option over the OEM in my opinion.
