Another TJ on 37s thread

...Just to throw it out there, wonder how many of you would throw 38k at a jetski to top triple digit mark on a gps? Yeah, might not be your cup of tea. But I wouldnt tell you that your purpose for just cruising on your jetski is ignorant. Just be a wasted fiberglass tree to me. ...

I haven't ridden a jet ski in almost 30 years, but if I wanted to make some type of show off channel cruiser to take out instead of the pontoon boat, I suspect this you might have some useful knowledge on how to put that together even though your interest is in speed.

Can you weight one?
Battery is low in scale. No other 9 volts but i yanked it then put it back. Got a 98 lbs reading first that I believe was wrong then 3 in a row 110.0 which I would think is correct. Heavier than I thought.

Almost twice as hairy?

So mrblaine, hear alot about you and have read your "handle" all over this site. Tell me about brakes. Let me ask if you walmarted and sell on Jegs or Atech? Just asking as I like to save a dime like anyone else. Should I pm you?

No, no discounters other than me and we've been holding the line for longer than we reasonably should to avoid raising prices. Everything has gone up except us.

PM works, here works, email works, phone works, smoke signals might work but I'm a bit rusty on interpreting. The only thing that doesn't work is texting. I don't read them, don't bother.

Don't forget, they're 20x12 wheels. Most of us run 8" wide wheels...

13.5 might actually be more appropriate for those wheels than 12.5.
We a lil "dense" down here in the South. Maybe you could splain to me why EXACTLY I`d want a wider rim. That stretched sidewall look is for morons so I hope you dont think thats cool. But you can do it how you choose brother. Cause those pics right there look damn perfect to me.

Quite the opposite. Most off-road enthusiasts run as narrow (also as small a diameter) of a rim as the tire will allow.

So for a 35x12.5R15 tire, a 15x8 rim is typically chosen. In this setup, the tread sticks out significantly past the rim, reducing the odds the rim of the bead of the tire gets struck by a rock. If the edge of the rim is struck by a rock, it might not hold air anymore.

In addition, narrower rims allow for the tire to remain seated at lower air pressures. Rock crawlers typically run 8 PSI without beadlocks and 4 PSI with beadlocks. The narrower rim increases the force of the sidewall on the rim, which reduces the odds of losing a bead and also reduces the odds of the rim spinning inside the tire.

So it’s the opposite of the stretched look. Instead, it’s almost a bit of a squished look. Stretched look is entirely a mall crawler thing that came from sports cars and track cars, and has no place on a true off-road vehicle.

Seems mrblaine is right about holding the line. Great pricing on brake systems. Looks like Im going big on brakes. Thanks mrblaine and blackmagicbrakes
We are doing the best we can but with everything that goes in the kits keeps going up in cost, I don't know how much longer it will be.

The masters we supply used to be 50 bucks each delivered. Now they are running close to 100.
The knuckles across the board have gone up 15-20%. The downside of US mfg. is when the minimum wage went up in parts of CA, the trickle up effect got us. The floor laborers at the foundry got a big bump. The workers right above them said they were NOT working for the same price as the floor guys, so they got a bump. The guys above them said, nope, we're not working for the same as those guys so they got a bump. Boss said, I gotta raise prices or go out of business. Up they went.
Rotors have gone up 20%.
Pads have gone up 20%.

I think he was saying: For the horrible tires you got, those wheels will work well!

The comment or reply was to why would he have suggested a 13.5 rim instead of the 12.5 rim. Thats just what was said.

I`m dealing with the same thing. Steel pricing seems to be fluid right now and damn near every month manufacturers are going up. Magnaflow the most. In a way its good because that means Chinese imports are going down and manufacturers are forced to build here. Inventory seems to be our problem last two months. Cant get enough in and I have parts on backorder some now for 4 months.

So whats so horrible about them? Seriously, ellaborate. These tires are designed NOT to have road noise. Important part of MY build. Looks is my thing. Aggressive look without actually being aggressive. If I was to ride in a vehicle with lets say thornbirds, Id probably kill someone after 30 mins. That or Id have to get out and consume some beer.

I guess nothing really wrong with them, just that they're only for looks and not usable for offroad. As others have said, it's the opposite of what most of the people on here would choose.

I have 37 X 12.5 X 17 on a 17 X 9 wheel. That is pretty close to the norm for 37's. Though some would do a 13.5" tire on the same wheel if they have the clearance.

So we look at your tire/wheel combo and shake our head.
