prepping for rock sliders

Nutserts went easy for me (no problems) I'll post what I used and how i used it when I get back home Sunday. And yes i trimmed the bolts from the floor .

As you know there are several vids on youtube. But this is what I used and it was simple.
1. I looked up the size nutserts that fit the bolt for my sliders. Bolt size 3/8 x 16-(thread pitch) for me I think.
2. It gave me the size hole to drill 17/32 in my case.
3. get a 3/8s bolt about 1&1/2 or 2" full thread with a star lock washer and a over size nut (As a spacer/leverage nut. Thread everything down all the way and stick in the hole in the jeep panel you just drilled.
4. Hold the spacer nut with a wrench , and tighten the bolt with the proper socket/wrench.
5. As it tightens you will feel a resistance as it is crimping.
6. There will be no doubt when it bottoms out and then I went just a touch more.
7. Then while still holding the spacer nut loosen and back out the bolt and your done.
Easy as pie. 20170529_113134.webp 20170529_113245.webp

Appreciate the step by step, thank you. I've done them in the past the same way, but it's been years ago, and nice to be reminded.

I guess the nutsert doesn't cause the slider to be spaced out from the body too much?

Not at all that I could tell.
