What did you do to your TJ today?

New 5:13 Revolution Gears and Axles installed. Now going through the break in process.

Going from 4:88 to 5:13, I’m running at about 200-300 RPM higher. However, there is more power band in 4th to 5th and 6th gear might actually get used now, and be able to maintain momentum!

Discovered a potential cause for why I don't have blower speed 3. Already replaced the resistor and the blower motor, and regained speeds 1 and 2 intermittently. Ordered a Mopar replacement vacuum control switch and will put on some female plug connectors when that gets here. If the issue is farther down the line at the blower speed switch, then I'll have to figure out what Chinese parts brand to go with, since I can't seem to find a Mopar replacement for that switch this side of the Atlantic.

In better news, I fixed the lighter socket that hasn't worked in 4-ish years!

Took the doors off today and they slid right out after being on all winter. We all have read about people having trouble getting the doors off/on, so I thought, who needs to hear this.
Add a small amount of anti seize to the post and they remove/install like butter.
stupid tip, I know but it really does help.

Look back a few posts in this thread on the relay option I mentioned. Best upgrade to avoid this in the future. Dangerous that Jeep even did this electrical system design in the first place.

Manual recommends Engine Oil as lube for the door pins. Can't see any issues with antiseize as a good option too. I usually hit the door pins with 400-800 grit if there is some rust on them and then lube them during any oil change in the warm months.

Reinstalled the painted panels (SEM paint), wired to foglight switch to ASD relay, installed USB where cigarette lighter used to be, and got one chair wrapped with Bartact covers and installed before I got too tired.

Took off my rock sliders. I always thought my Jeep was rust free but today she broke my heart. Any ideas on how to fix it without marring the paint?

Bled the brakes and installed the YJ brake lines(longer than stock)

if its gonna get covered back up by a slider/armor, then id sand it and paint it. Really the only way I would think is a fix

12V from the cigarette lighter. I plan to do a dedicated line when I finally get my aux fuse block in but the lighter has worked for 10+ years and is right there to solder into.

What tire size and what are RPM now at say 65? 2005 with 6spd trying to decide what ratio for upcoming regear.

I'm running 35" MT/Rs, 5.13s, 6 speed ... just over 2800rpm @ 65 mph

I don’t think it’s deep. I’m gonna try the clay bar first. It’s a $30 try with no downside. Not exactly sure what I want the long term solution to be.

The clay bar got most of it off. Gonna hit it up with a DA polisher and I think I can get back in business. You may be right in putting them back on being the best choice...just a choice I hate because there's a 1/4" gap between the slider and the fender that's annoying to me.

In any event, my SSYE comes in today so that'll be my focus for the next little bit. I'm very excited to be able to put on my shifter boot.
