Quadratec Customer Service Issues

I can't tell Hailey has a Jeep or not...

Hey!

I do have a 2012 JK and a 1997 TJ!

@Quadratec
Nothing is more pathetic to watch than PR damage control team spraying perfumes to soften up the stench of their shit.

My experience with QT:

1.
Ordered in stock item > order received > processing > 4 day silence ...
Emailed > silence ...
Waited > silence ...
Emailed again > item out of stock, eta is 3 weeks.

2.
Asked for a deal on an item that QT had their mystical sale on, and was still $40 more expensive than else where.
Their customer support was convincing me for 10 minutes that their $20 more expensive price match guarantee deal + 20$ shipping + tax is the shit of the shits!
I could not tell if that cs was dumb or stupid.

3.
Fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice ... well fuck me.
Ordered in stock item just to find out that it is on back order ... after a week of waiting.

4.
Fourth time ended up on their website through google search, realized it was QT with their "in stock, ready to ship" shit again ...
Went into network settings and blacklisted their domain, along with all the RegEx roots that lead to their bull shit sales, back ordered "in stock" items, and nonexistent customer support.

I just want to make sure I am keeping score correctly here. For Jeep parts, I should basically adhere to the following:

1. Do not order from Quadratec because their customer service sucks.
2. Do not order from Extreme Terrain because their customer service sucks.
3. Do not order from Morris because their customer service sucks.
4. Do not order from Savvy because their customer service sucks.

For the record, I order from all four and have never had an issue. Pricing is mostly consistent because it is set by the manufacturer (or they are the manufacturer) and these guys don't generally do what they want unlike Amazon. They do vary on occasion but not by much. Things do go on backorder but that is the same for a lot of parts these days. And all 4 places do answer the phone and shipped/cancelled orders as expected.

Truthfully, there are not a lot of places entirely dedicated to Jeeps like these places are so avoid them all you want but be careful what you wish for. Sure... Amazon will offer you a replacement or a refund at the drop of a hat but I guarantee no one there is going to know the difference between a JK and a TJ either.

#3 has good deals. I got my seat back covers for $5 each on sale. They mislabeled them as tank tops.

Just fixed it.

I am just kidding of course... I am totally jealous of your entire setup.

I used to use Quadratec all the time. Their customer service sucks! Especially if you try to email them. I stopped using them because of that. I'd cancel the order. You'll have to call Q-Tec to cancel. Paypal has been great with me for getting refunds.
This is my experience also. 15 years ago I used them a lot. Recently I used them and I had issues, my service was hit and miss. I suppose anywhere can be like that. If everybody that worked there held "Hailey" here's ethics, maybe they would have a higher reputation on here.

I documented in my build thread here a simple failure of an item they sell, a .75" Urethane coil spacer listed to function in the rear of a TJ. It does not work as the spring crushes it due to being formed to fit in the front only. NOT a big deal, but I wanted to point out they do not function for this area and they should update the website. Well, the guy i got on the phone right off the bat treated me like I'm Forrest Gump. Until I had to be a dick in return and straight up ask for a return label, which he gave me. After arguing. He had a nice little chuckle letting me know how dumb I am, and how many spacers he has installed with no issues. That's a great way to warm the customer over.

Shame on me for not seeing the failure of the spacer first I suppose, but they list it front and rear. I also check shit after I install it and saw the spring was smashing it flat. maybe other people would just toss it in and forget it.

@Quadratec -Hailey, don't take this the wrong way but if your presence was stronger than 17 posts in 5 years on here, we would hold you guys in a higher regard, at least I might. And we would know that maybe we have a person that works there that would understand they are not dealing with idiots bolting shit on their Jeeps and this may not be their first rodeo.

Hello there,

I would be happy to look into that order if you would like to send me your order information.

Thank you
Hailey
Hailey,

Order #U1318466

Ordered on 2/19/2021

Since I couldn't cancel the order online through your website, I sent the below e-mail on 2/20/2021

I have a general question/comment.
Please cancel this entire order as the items are not in stock as advertised. The items are not even in another warehouse as I was previously advised. The items are in fact out of stock and back ordered until March.Thank you.

Even though the item was supposedly back-ordered until March, it was shipped on 2/28/2021. By that stage, I had sourced it elsewhere.

I received the following e-mail from Quadratec Customer Service on 3/4/2021

We received your return request for the following item:
16124 0031 01 2 RS7000MT SERIES MONOTUBE SHOCK
Your previous cancel request only included the below item:
16058 61 01 1 TIE ROD BOOT SET 55-06 BLACK

Apparently, this is because the other item was shipped directly from the supplier.

Currently, the item is still sitting with Irish Customs in Shannon Airport racking up storage fees because even though I have advised DHL that I cancelled the order prior to it being shipped and therefore I will not be paying the import fees, DHL still have not returned it to sender as requested.

I gave up on Quadratec at least 15 years ago. Their prices were always higher than what others charged and some of their tech was incorrect. For example I sent them 2-3 emails saying their speedometer gear chart was incorrect in several areas and even years later those same errors remained. They finally fixed them but to me it showed they didn't care about anything but selling product.

One outrageous example of pricing arrogance.... they were selling the Uniden Pro-520xl in their catalog for $69.95 when everyone else was selling them for $39.95 at the time. There was a Quadratec rep on a Jeep forum who was arguing with me that their prices were great that I kept disagreeing with. He finally shut up when I posted that Pro-520xl example. I just checked their pricing and the Uniden Pro-510xl that can be found for $29.95 is $49.95 in their latest catalog.

They're still taking advantage of newer Jeepers who don't yet know how to price shop Jeep parts or how to buy anywhere else. They're for the new Jeepers... those with more experience gravitate elsewhere.
What are your recommendations for other vendors?

I'm new to the Jeep world after wheeling Fords and Samurais for the last 30 years. My first parts order was with QT last month. Morris was the only comparable for price and availability and I needed the parts in 5 days for a snow run. The short version is half my order got shipped and the other didn't. One call and QT shipped the rest with 3 day shipping at no charge. So far I can't complain about their customer service.

My concern initially was not that the items became on "Back Order" when they were advertised as "ready for immediate shipment" but I was told in an email that I had not paid International shipping costs which I actually did pay! Anyway for you lucky folk I usually pay more in shipping costs than the actual items costs and I am glad the likes of Quadratec and Rockauto ship international without charging ridicules costs like some other US venders who just cant be bothered and use a generic international courier calculator to quote shipping.

Rockauto: ordered parts last week shipped half way around the world US to Perth AU almost 12,000 miles and delivered today :)
Its actually worth you guys paying priority shipping rather than waiting for "Free shipping" to eventually arrive :)
