I just installed a RIPP performance coil from K Suspension @ http://www.ksuspensionfab.com . My experience at K Suspension was top notch. Seriously could not recommend enough. One of those husband-wife business built on customer service.

I was having random, increasing cylinder misfires and poor acceleration. At temperature, coming to a stop, it would idle so rough that I would occasionally get a blinking engine light, requiring that I restart the engine. Also, RPMS over 3800 were rough, 4500 impossible.

First thing I noticeable was the increased power and smooth acceleration though shifts even at higher RPMs. Codes gone, said with fingers crossed. Possible MPG improvement, but I need a few tanks to say for sure. I did have to modify it to fit around the turbo bracket.

Here's some pictures:

Maybe you just had a bad coil and that fixed the problem. Im not sure if a "high performance" coil would really do something on these engines in their stock form.

You’re 100% right on the money.

That being said, K-Suspension is a good company.

If you need to replace the coil rail anyway, this is about the same price as OEM. Maybe twice the price of aftermarket, but... aftermarket.
If this is an OEM Viper coil it seems like a good way to go if you don’t want the rail system.

Well, I may be 100% off, or maybe with the Banks setup it is a nice complement. I don't know. Don't profess to be an expert. Just thought I would share my experience.

Only on taking the old one out. I'm happy with the outcome. Not going to discuss more here, but message if interested in more details.
Have the same Banks set up on my ‘06 Rubicon. Hate the coil rail, found K Suspension and he actually pointed me to your install. Said you made some bracket mods but otherwise installed perfectly. So, RIPP is on its way. Mind sharing the bracket mods you made?

Yes, the bracket for the turbo gets in the way of the bracket from K Suspension. RIPP uses K Suspension's bracket, so it would be same for them, too. The picture below shows where I cut it. The hole on the right was drilled to attach to the outside of the turbo bracket. Unfortunately, the bracket had to pulled to the right by a 1/4", so you need to elongate the mounting hole on the left. I marked with a red dot where I later drilled a hole which allows you a great spot to remount the wiring harness from the cam sensor. Might want to do that before you mount it. Of course measure your harness before you drill. Remember to wrap #3 wire to avoid P0303.

Forgot to ask, what did you mean by “Remember to wrap #3 wire to avoid P0303.” Thanks

I remember reading a TSP that recommends heat insulating the #3 wire. Might not be necessary without the rail coil. So what the verdict? Did you notice more responsiveness? Power?

Ah, thank you.
I’ll keep you posted. Doing this along w catalytic converters (clogged, waiting on parts, aFe was 8 week lead, so Flow Master on the way), so I’m hoping for a whole new level of performance with both done.

OEM Viper coils are just a Dodge Caravan and Neon renumbered to 10 cylinder. Save your money and get the Caravan coil if you're going to do this mod.

Save what money? Kit comes with a RIPP Superchargers coil ($?), not a Mopar coil ($60) You would then need to cut and paint a bracket (2 hrs + dry time, $30), make a harness (1 hr, $40), cut and fab six plug wires (3 hrs, $70). You may save a $20. I saved my weekend.
