Pre DOS in the 90's? Are you talking DOS as an operating system or something else? WIndows has been out since 1985, DOS was before that. I got into the computer industry in 1972.

I started as a parts delivery driver in 88. Worked my way to a counter man over the years. We had a computer that ran off DOS I think. It was a long time ago. We looked up most stuff by paper catalogs. The computers were ran by a screen by screen operating system, whatever that may have been called.

It's amazing that I was taught how to use microfilm in school into late-90s early-2000s. Just like I was taught some kind of computer programming language in first grade in the mid 80s. Never used any of it.

There were many industries including auto...that were still using old microfilm.
Not for everything mind you...

A part lookup for a 1972 Fury was only going to help you on the microfilm as example.

By the mid 2000's all that stuff was gone. Even if you needed yo reference it 99 percent of the parts were obsolete. It was pointless

I've been on the hunt for a card catalog cabinet like that for a while. What was once junk is now antique, hard to find, and pricey...love it!

And those things were designed to hold a crazy amount of weight, so they are perfect for heavy stuff. I picked up a few of them from the first place I worked many, many years ago. I wished I had gotten 10.

Yeah. I think like most, I hadn’t heard anything about the Black Max shocks. All I ever seen was how bad their other ones are. I haven’t been shopping around for any either though.

Speaking of antique storage cabinets...

I got three of these old card file cabinets. Heavy buggers... Made by the Remington- Rand company.

We were cleaning out some old storage at work and they didn't have a use anymore. I grabbed em, but I'm not sure what to do with them... The drawers are a little shallow for storage.

I don’t even know where a scale is in my area.

I ordered the smaller size as I have a smaller 2 inch OME lift (2.5 inch with the HD springs).

Generally speaking, you can find public scales at truck stops. Scales can also be found at some land fills, some building & construction material yards, etc. You don't need a certified weight, just the weight of the front axle, rear axle and total.
