Did they ever mention why they switched to a different tire? I assume they followed the money.

Damned right they followed the money when they got the Ultra 4 car. Waiting to see Bilsteins on more rigs now.
I think my TJ has seen its last set of tires. Fortunately they're MT/Rs and they're in good condition.
I've already committed to switching to 17" for my set of MTRs. If I'm going to go through the effort of installing internal beadlocks, it's going to be on an available tire size for a tire I like.
I haven't found an adapter/spacer option that gets me to 3.75" backspace on a JK wheel. My plan is to get the Quadratec copy of the JK Moab because it has less backspacing than the factory JK Moab. And they look better.
I mean, can you really blame them? I'd have to follow the money too if I were to afford an U4 team.

Not sure they ever were. Moabs are still the best looking wheels you can put on a TJ though.

There are a few C rated tires for them. I talk shit about Moab wheels all the time but they really aren't a bad option. Probably one of the strongest factory wheels if weight is an indicator. A standard truck size wheel so tires will probably be available long after the 15" is dead and buried although mostly E rated. I think the first super swamper was a 16" tire.
