I posted this a couple of days ago, it either didn't take or I can't find it somehow. This is the one I was talking about that the owner didn't know what was. It has seen a very steady and frequent diet of JV and similar local trails.Me either.
But whatever one I have been running the last 5 years has held up to some serious abuse.
As soon as they are done at the heat treater. They were dropped off on Monday the 17th. I was not given an ETC.How soon will these ship?
Is there a way to test if the TR ends are in good shape? That’s what I paid for mine used. I had to replace the boots on the TR ends, which was about $35. At least the TR ends we’re still in good shape because they’re $85 a piece.
Are the tapered studs snug? If not, you can squeeze the housing in a press to tighten them up.Is there a way to test if the TR ends are in good shape?
I wonder how the Patagonias hold up in JV?I posted this a couple of days ago, it either didn't take or I can't find it somehow. This is the one I was talking about that the owner didn't know what was. It has seen a very steady and frequent diet of JV and similar local trails.

All the more reason for an unbendable tie rod.I wonder how the Patagonias hold up in JV?
Holding up and working are two entirely different things. One is fine, the other not so fine.I wonder how the Patagonias hold up in JV?
Yes, you could make this work with the OE drag link. As mentioned, you'd need to buy the Currectlync tie rod ends.Noob question but have been pondering this for a minute now. I haven't purchased the currie steering yet (planning on it somewhere along the way as budget priority allows) but its design appears to be the same design as the factory steering.
Would I be able to buy this tie rod and install it leaving the rest factory for now? Assuming I would need certain TREs if it works otherwise.
Yes, as stated, all you need is the tie rod ends from John. And before anyone asks, no, it isn't that easy to find an oversize end with the correct tapered end that fits the TJ taper. You pretty much have to have them custom made.Noob question but have been pondering this for a minute now. The draglink still bendsHere it is!

Painted and side by side with my old Currie tie rod. The BMB tie rod is pretty much identical dimensionally to Currie/RockJock except that the ends aren't turned down a small amount.

My Currie tie rod has been bent and straightened many times over the last few years.

I'm looking forward to not bending the Black Magic Brakes tie rod!

And Dana 44's wear through to the bolt holes so what's your fucking point? We bend and have always bent the tie rod far more than the draglink. The draglink still bends
No point to make except that shit can and will still bend. This tie rod is the bees knees. And Dana 44's wear through to the bolt holes so what's your fucking point? We bend and have always bent the tie rod far more than the draglink.
Alright then "fuck it" after this batch I'm done and folks will have you to blame for it.No point to make except that shit can and will still bend. This tie rod is the bees knees.
Why stop production on a very useful product over one comment from a certified idiot?Alright then "fuck it" after this batch I'm done and folks will have you to blame for it.
I'm not making much on these, I don't need the bullshit and I know precisely how to stop it, that's why.Why stop production on a very useful product over one comment from a certified idiot?
I was not trying to discredit your product in the slightest. With a tie rod this stout i was simply trying to state that the length of draglink acting as the tie rod can still bend... Mine has bent many many many times over 6 years and has just now created an issue that cannot be resolved without straightening and putting some bend back into the drag link.I'm not making much on these, I don't need the bullshit and I know precisely how to stop it, that's why.
And yet, here you are.I was not trying to discredit your product in the slightest.
