What did you do to your TJ today?

My biggest concern with the Rockville sub is it's lack of any waterproofing. I live in the PNW and it can get wet in the cab...I've had a solid half inch of water sloshing around from melted snow before I pulled the drain plugs.

That and when I pull the top come spring...

My sub floats freely on the floor behind the passenger seat. Last year on a trail run we had a wickedly deep river to cross and I had to pull my sub apart and throw it on the front seat so it didn't get submerged, a real pain in the ass to do on the trail.

And same thing...At least once or twice a year I get caught in a bad rain storm and the floors fill with water. One project for me this year is to mount it permanently. I have a tool box in the back and I think I am going to do something similar--use nutserts and mount the sub on the back wall of the tool box with a large rubber isolating mat.

Rock crawling is a fast way to remove the rust from my gas tank skid.

I think Saavy is the most affordable...UCF has the most capacity...

Haven't decided what I am doing...it's not leaking and the plastic might pop out when it gets hot this summer.

Ignoring it for now.

It's been nearly 2 months since I replaced my O2 sensors, so last night I decided to check if everything had recalibrated.

Looks like it has.

Also, should I look into performing the technical bulletin repair for the catalyst heater? The one that involves wire cutting & splicing under the power distribution center.
I am not required to have emissions inspections, so should I not worry about it?
Or would/could it negatively affect fuel mileage?

Any guidance is appreciated.

FWIW, I have an O2 problem but I don't think it's heater related. I'm not doing the TSB until I have evidence saying it should be done.

Edit: referring to TSB 25-005-13 (for 05/06 models), which supersedes TSB 25-001-07

Thanks very much for referring to both of these. The revision seems to just give more detail on the symptoms/conditions. The rest of it looks to be all the same.

I'm not in any rush to cut wiring. However, I do have the blinking CEL 15 seconds after a key turn without cranking the engine.

I'll continue to monitor and see how it goes.

Yes, I recall the revision basically telling me that there is now a lifetime TSB warranty (or whatever they called it) for that issue. But a dealer probably won't do the work for no cost to the end user simply because there is a TSB and the light blinks for 15 seconds. They will likely do their own tests and charge you if the issue is unrelated to the TSB (trap for the unwary). That's what my local dealership told me when I considered having the TSB wiring done while I'm out of state. It's not worth the hassle to deal with the dealership for basic wire repair or risk paying $$$ for something unrelated to the TSB, so I'll do the wiring myself if/when needed.

I have the blinking light as well, but I needed to remember that I have CELs right now. Even if I didn't have a CEL, it takes time for the system to become I/M ready after clearing codes or removing battery power. Just mentioning that since the TSB states to do the wiring job if the light blinks for 15 seconds...but I don't recall the TSB providing exceptions where readiness may not be ready due to reasons other than bad wiring in the PDC.

Edit: there may be additional reasons for why readiness isn't ready beyond what I mentioned that I'm simply not aware of.

Heading back to Brown's camp. I did say redecking or I meant too but rednecking is sufficiently similar. Also rewired.

Ran Cedar Tree, Power line, Bates and about half of Firebreak before the pucker factor got me.

Put a good dent in the rust hole for my gas tank skid, the usual scratches on the diff and shovel and a couple on the rockers and rear fender. Nothing I'm concerned about.

Had a blast and got some great videos.
