Opened and poured some last night, gonna need to hunt another bottle for emergencies

The 04 2023 batch is out now. Haven’t heard anything on it yet. I’m not super big on Bookers. Not really a collector of anything. Had a Russel SiB store pick i omen last night. Really good!

Brought a few bottles up to the lake house to give my buddy some options to try. The Midwinters is great, the Russels is amazing, the Hidden Barn needs to get poured in the sink. I’ve tried it three times and it’s been terrible each time. I’d label this a firm “do not buy”.

I don't know German beers very well. Is that a Lager?

Yes it is. German beers seem proportionally more lager-heavy and I generally favor those that lean more malty than hoppy. I like doppelbocks as well.

As for ales I like medium to dark stuff like scotch and irish ales, porters and stouts, especially barrel aged. Never have enjoyed IPAs much. I have flowers in my yard that I can eat if the urge arises.

You're close enough to be able to get my favorite ale, which is Four Peaks brewings (in Tempe) "Kilt Lifter". I've never been in Arizona outside the airport but I used to keep it stocked when I lived in Colorado. I can't find it anywhere this far east.

I'm not a fan of Kilt lifter myself. I like Ales and Lagers mostly. I don't mind a bourbon barrel ale once in awhile.
