What did you do to your TJ today?

Gave LJ a bath :)

I've ordered a set of coarse and fine files to working the clear coat drips. Also some good 2K clear. Should be here end of week.

However, I was just about to start working the drips with a razor blade and decided to check how close the Dupli-color ended up.

Pretty good, I feel.

It would have been nice if the Dupli-color clear had worked. Guess it's all a part of learning.

DANG, that's pretty! Almost hate to think of dirt and mud on it later.:(

Totally feel the same way. It will get beat up for sure. The inner fenders are also painted and they took a beating with rocks.

I own a vinyl wrapping company and this was some scrape vinyl I had laying around, so figured it would clean it up for awhile.

Do you think vinyl wrapping corner armor would last?

Do you think vinyl wrapping corner armor would last?

Depends. It would last about as good as paint, but if you use your corner armor it won’t hold up to rocks or tree branches which paint won’t any better.

Light tree branch scratches might buff out with paint, but it might tear up the vinyl. Only way to fix that is to remove and replace.

How well would the edges wrap? Or is that not a concern?

Edges are a none issue, they would wrap easy. The countersinks holes would be my concern. The vinyl would wrap down in there no problem, but when you go to tighten the bolts, extra care would be needed to not allow the countersunk bolt to spin. If the bolt spins it would cause the vinyl to twist and more than likely cause creases and damage around the area.

If you tighten the nut and don’t allow the bolt to spin this would be avoided.

I think I'm done razor blading these spots. Big clumps feel smooth. I've cleaned up the dust and now I'll wait for the files to show before hitting them again.

Besides, I've more pressing things calling; AKA, getting the grill ready for burgers.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends!
