What did you do to your TJ today?

Tightened the bolts that hold the Hurst shifter stick onto the Hurst shifter that PO put in the Jeep. Again, it was loose when I got the Jeep 15 months ago and really reefed on the bolts then. This time I cleaned up the bolts and threads in the shifter and used some blue Locktite and put the beans to it again. It loosened up so gradually I didn't notice until I realized it was like stirring a stick in a box of marbles.

Switched it to summer mode

Then drove up to Hoodoo mountain to admire the views

I ordered New KO2s from Costco yesterday. They arrived the following day. Funny thing is they are booked out a week and a half for installation.
I am going to need tires soon. Do you trust them to do the install without trashing your wheels? My ProComps are still really pretty and I would hate to have them scuffed up.. especially since I want to sell/trade them at some point.

I don't trust anyone not to damage my wheels when putting tires on, except for the off-road shop I use. I'll even buy my truck and cars tires from them.

Just make sure to take good, date stamped pictures when you're in the parking lot so if they do you have something to show if they do damage them.

I use a local shop thet does everything from rust buckets to Lamborghinis. The Owners all drive Jeeps. I know I pay a premium but they do good work.

I quit buying tires at Costco years back because they never could balance the damn things. The local tire place was only very slightly more, and they knew how to use a balance machine. That was in Commiefornia - no Costco here, but I've had very good luck with Discount Tire thus far.

Blew my $25 Goldwood sub yesterday driving my son to his basketball game. We were bringing the hype.

Upgrading to the 6.5" Kicker this time around. The Goldwood was a fine speaker, I was (knowingly) feeding it too much power from the Soundstream amp. The Kicker should be more up to the task at 300W peak.

I installed a LED strip light in my Tuffy InstaTrunk that is ground switched by a door pin switch. I used the switch as the ground for the light, that is why I switched the ground side.

If you are local to Southern Indiana/Louisville, KY I will give you 1 of the 2 extra I have. If not, here is the switch I used. It needed a 7/16" hole for the plunger and a small pilot hole for the screw.

Thanks to @MikekiM for the idea and the switch to use. I've been wanting a light in this area.

Replaced the foam in the front seat bottoms (from Summit) and installed Dorma seat heaters.

As others have said, the new foam is a big improvement in firmness and support. So much that I removed the 1" risers from the passenger side.

I would have removed them from the driver's side too but I have an amateur radio under the seat and need the extra height for the tumble lever to work.

Roadside repairs. Started getting a P0016 on the drive to swap some bumpers.

Looks like when the PO swapped engines they didn't tighten the oil pump drive retaining bolt and it turned enough to start kicking the code. I twisted it back up to ~4 o'clock and no more code for the remainder of the drive. Gonna snug it down after supper.

Gotta love those road side repairs!!
