Had an issue on my 02, still working through it actually, but with all these members' help I'm gonna be just fine. So I appreciate the fast and plentiful responses from the membership of this forum.

It sure beats the corvette forum where if you ask anything its just a bunch of grouchy old dudes that are scared to death to deviate even slightly from fully OEM on their mid 80s vette.

HA! I know what you mean. That rigidity often overflows into the way they view the world as well.

Having owned a C6 Z06, I know exactly what you mean though! ;)

I asked what x pipe they were running and I got every lame response anywhere from "just leave it stock" to "just spend 2500 dollars on an overpriced corsa system covered in chrome plating" but never a direct answer to my question. So anything to do with modding just forget it.
But the knowledge for tech support is still on the Corvette forum. Any sort of maintenance and they are helpful.

Having owned a number of classics, a lot of those guys refuse to touch them if it's anything other than OE. I always thought that was odd. All of my classics were always restomods. I liked modifying them with better parts. Isn't that part of the fun?

No doubt. Or at least improve stuff and leave it stock looking. Like the bose stereos in the c4s. you can tear all that out and install a aftermarket head unit that looks period correct, not some massive touch screen. When I had my c6 I did the paddle shifter mod and installed 3d printed enlarged aftermarket paddles that made it easier to use

That's what I've done with my 1973 Chevy K10. Left it looking stock but improved everything under the hood, driveline, etc.

Oh, and no touch screens either! I like the headunits that look period correct but have the digital connectivity.

Yeah, I’ve been on car forums where anything other than OEM air in the tires was risking a fiery crash into a bus full of kindergartners and nuns.
