04-06 Flowmaster 2049170 Catalytic Converter Kit

Looking at options online, it looks like the connection to the cat on the 00-03 is a flange and the 04-? Is maybe a clamp style. Hopefully if you're replacing it all it will work other thank figuring out the 3rd cat hanger. If that's all it is, I may just take it to a shop to add a straight piece to eliminate the 3rd cat.

Right?!?

That's all I could find that was different. On my 2000 also, the muffler was a slip joint and not a flange. I had to adapt the outlet on the third cat with a flange when I installed the Banks Monster car back. Now, once I get the new cats on, it will be 2.5" from the Y back. I don't expect much from it, but it will be nice knowing that it is.

One benefit of leaving the third cat out is, when I do the tummy tuck I won't have to worry about modifying the cat mount. 😆

I came accross paperwork from JBA that showed their single-out manifolds working for 91-99 4.0L years, and their dual-out working for years 00-06. This makes sense since the precats for the late models all look similar but some are different in how they plumb in down stream. That shouldn't be too difficult to solve.

Put mine on yesterday. Not too bad. Kroil does wonders. The stock hardware is really nice. One of the pre-cats had a 3/4 inch hole thru it. I'm going to cut the pipe in front of the third cat to see what it looks like. I bet it was semi plugged because I could tell before I got out of my driveway that it took less throttle for the Jeep to move.

Anyone ran the Holley kit long enough to tell if check engine light goes away?

Holley owns Flowmaster.

This kit solved my P0420 code back in 2021 and has held up to the turbo for the past year…I recently checked the catalyst while the precats were removed from the rig.
