You gotta be kidding me...I’m speechless. I showed this to them. I just let them read it. One of them said, “what does he want us to do? Clean it?” I said, “Hey dummy, he’s giving it to you, see the shipping receipt?” Then they said, wow, how much lift?
“I said, IDK, looks like Rubicon Express. My guess is 3.5”that’s really special. Wife immediately said, “let’s take it to Moab.”
They cleaned the carpet with one of those Bissell vacuum’s with the detergent, then power washed and vacuumed one more time. Interior is back together.
I’ll be ordering some seat risers.
it was missing the center console cup holder insert. Ordered.
All fluids and filters either ordered or picked up today. We’ll just drain the 42rle pan, ~4 quarts. Boys will learn to make RTV gaskets. I won’t tell them about Lubelocker yet.
They drilled drain holes in the frame between the CA’s and flushed the frame. It’s not smooth, which means rust. Plenty of steel left. @Mike_H directed me to Eastwood products. I’ll be ordering what they suggest soon.
Rugged ridge flares get better reviews than Crown. Ordered some. Boys paying $60. I’m paying $72. Supplies would cost at least that much to repaint. They need to invest some money.
Driver door had no retaining strap or bracket, a broke off bolt, and one had been drilled out. I have lots of little stuff and the bracket was one of them. I extracted the bolt, the other side I put in a nutsert, and made a temporary strap out of paracord. Door doesn’t fling open now!
Adhesion promoter and SEM Landau black for various exterior parts. Scotch brite will get a bump.

We’re also going to hack the front OEM bumper at the same angle as stock, but short like a stubby, then put the Mopar end caps on. Rear bumper will stay as is for now. We’ll see if we remove the jugs. I’d say likely, I believe there is a Mopar end cap for those too. I had a set at one time from @CodaMan , but the deal was ‘pass it forward’ and I did that a long time ago!
I’m still waiting for the ok from you to box and send the lift, it’s a RE 4.5” Superflex lift. I sent a Savvy cable shifter, TC shifter, and a steering skid in the box I sent.
I want them to do the thread. I’m thinking about whether I should distract them at this age. It’s an addiction, but a good one for me. Not sure about them yet.
I know, fun! Won’t be as nice as yours, but our initial plans are to run a 3” lift with 32’s, so we are in the ballpark of you’re new build, which is very special.
@Wildman, this one has some rust in the frame rails between the CA’s, but there’s still plenty of steel. For what I paid I think it’s good, and apart from the miles, I’m a little jealous of this Jeep.
My build is an old man in the garage doing what he enjoys. Yours is about making family memories. You tell me which is better!
