2005 4.0 wont start

Pull the cover off the oil pump drive and check the alignment with #1 cylinder at TDC

Does this look correct i was struggling to find a mark on the pully

That small hole located at 8 o’clock as you’re looking at it from the passenger side should line up with the one below it. If it doesn’t, you are either not at TDC or the timing is off.

it looks off, if you are confident the timing marks on the harmonic balancer are aligned (TDC), you’ll need to adjust the oil pump drive to align those holes. Loosen the hold down and rotate it just like you would with a distributor. If you have a drill bit or something similar the same diameter as the alignment holes you can use it maintain alignment while you retighten the hold down bolt.

I believe several people have recommended Flagship One if you need to replace the PCM

I dont think anyone here has recommended them ! The ONLY one the knowledgeable users here use is MARK at WRANGLERFIX !!!! he has great knowledge and goes well out of his way to get you running and WILL NOT sell you a PCM unless you need it. his customer service is outstanding !!!!!!!!!!! CAD1 you must work for FLAGSHIP ONE ?

Was just wondering if you able to get things figured out?

I have not had anymore luck on it i ordered a crank position sensor that will be here Tuesday... not sure what else to check at this point. I wish the 05 was the same as my 97 so i could swap parts and trouble shoot more

I don't think the crank sensor is the problem, but maybe you will get lucky.

To test fuel pressure, you have to put a test tee between the rail and fuel line.

Since your OPDA was off, I'm thinking that the timing chain jumped. Unless the OPDA hold down bolt was loose to start with.

A bad crank or cam sensor would likely set an error in the pcm and not work even momentarily additionally, you have spark and the fuel pump is running, neither would be functioning (or the injectors) if the pcm didn’t see correct signals coming from those sensors.

You have verified spark, timing, and fuel, if the engine can breathe that should be it. One of these must still be compromised.

i want to check the chain its going to be warm enough i can go out and do that this week.

Hopefully you’ll find something, but keep in mind if the timing is significantly off to the point the pcm can’t compensate you should see an error. If the ASD relay is not dropping out during cranking or when it is attempting to run a catastrophic timing error doesn’t exist.
