As the title suggests, I cannot put the shifter into 1st. The transmission does use first gear when in drive and 2nd gear.
What I have done:
Removed the PRND21 cover and looked for obstructions.
Checked shift cable to transmission.
What I found:
The metal pin in the shifter that rides in the “shark fin” looking thing does not clear the 1st nock.
I can manually push it in but cannot use the thumb button on shifter to unlock it.
Is there an adjustment? I didn’t want to start tanking on things without having some understanding of how things come apart.
